Out of the Blue

I got myself a new Logitech G15 Keyboard with the snazzy LCD (oops, wrote LED at first, sorry) screen and all. I was a little worried at first that the extra macro keys down the left of the keyboard would throw me off, but they've been easy to get used to. In fact, what may be hard to get used to is working on keyboards without them, as I have already programmed a couple of useful macros. My only quibble is that the fold-out legs to tilt the keyboard don't tilt it very much, and they are sort of flimsy to boot. I think tilting is bad ergonomics, and it's almost like they are trying to discourage it. All in all, probably the best keyboard I've owned (with the possible exception of the old feature-free 20 lb IBM clicky-key models).

Hopefully with the god like characters wiping them all out, thus ending the horridly bad acting on the show and opening the slot for a better show.

We can hope.

Honestly, I think the acting was better in the first few seasons -- Richard Dean Anderson is certainly not the best actor, but he played the character well. I liked Ben Bowder in Farscape, but not in SG:1.

As for the other actors -- they're just phoning it in at this point. The characters ceased being interesting whatsoever many seasons ago. It really should've died after leaving Showtime (or really, after Season 4; I'd say they definitely jumped the shark in Season 5 with the whole "Ascension" thing).

Did Pee Wee get busted with kiddie porn?

No, actually the charges were dropped against, and the investigation shifted to his having erotic artwork that some may have found "obscene." But it was let know there was a possibility he possessed child pornography, which may or may not have been true. Still, the stigma stayed with him.

I love DBZ.

I liked the original Dragon Ball, most of DBZ, and really didn't get much into GT.

The unrated unedited eps are awesome.

Watched some old reruns of it when I was in Japan last December. There was a stark difference in what all actually made it to the US. I can't speak for the DVD releases, but I imagine Funimation heavily edited those for content like they did the broadcast show. Far bloodier and more adult oriented than anything I saw on Cartoon Network!

I did not create it. It is from the logo archive.
http://www.bluesnews.com/logos/archives/
I just have to modify them to fit the new page layout. I try and keep them as close as possible to the original (like this one is exact, only had to make it one solid image and remove the coloring around the borders for the old page coloring where the logo was). One of the easiest to modify for the new design.

cool logo Enahs... good job

Though if I were being picky, surely you coulda just left the middle bits of the lettering in. Of course, it's doubly funny because of the oft-mentioned likeness between Mr Blue and Gordon.

Well...to be fair, DBZ was partially based in mythology to begin with, they could afford to take some ventures like that. But I wholeheartedly agree on the repetitiveness of it all.

I love DBZ. Not all of the shows have made the transition to english, so my former roomie had ALL EPS - from overseas - the other pond. The unrated unedited eps are awesome.

I'll back you up on that one. I've been an almost exclusively Star Trek-based sci-fi watcher, so when I saw a bit of Stargate, I was like "what the hell is this crap, and why is it so popular?" To be honest, I didn't see a complete episode, but the acting just seemed... bad.

I'm not sure reruns of PeeWee's Playhouse on Adult Swim is considered a comeback.

Um, according to Wikipedia, he's been trying (thankfully, not with much success):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peewee_Herman#Current_activity

They took out a couple of mindless shows I liked to watch (Playhouse is mindless, but it's a kids' show). They practically had a damn perfect lineup on AS as it was (about as perfect as you're going to get with that kind), why ruin it with this?

Like DBZ before it ended

I never got into SG:1. I started watching SG:A in season 2 when I started tuning in before BSG. I enjoy it, but I would not call it great, just entertaining. I

I used to love SG-1, particularly the early season (like 1-3). Now while I'll still tune in to new episodes, it's suffering from "Dragon Ball Z" syndrome.

Defeat enemy - Yay
New obscenely stronger enemy comes - Boo
Defeat enemy - Yay
New obscenely stronger enemy comes - Boo
...repeat

Like DBZ before it ended, SG1 is now facing off against god like beings that could wipe out entire solar systems with but a thought (though so far they're just battling "enhanced" minions).

I mean, where does it end? You can't go backward because then it's like " :-yawn-: last year's enemy was tougher, and they can just just last years weapon to wipe them out."

SG:A, ehhh, I like it more than the current SG-1 episodes but not by much.

You mean as opposed to locking them in a room, physically punishing them, and taking away their medication?

What did you in, the whole Church of Scientology gimmick or the jumping on the couch? About the only movie I thought he was more or less casted right was Michael Mann's Collateral, a role that at least allowed him to act arrogant with some justification.

Actually it was the incident on Matt Lauer's (spelling approx) show. The "You don't know, Matt" incident when Matt was trying to explain to Tom that he had in fact researched the issue of medication and psychiatric help to help with depression.

Oh, yeah, and the movie was possibly the closest anyone has come to staying close to Dick's work.
Awesome.

Eh, I like the first the best. The second one was done pretty well by Woo, I though they restricted him too much to get that PG-13 rating. Given how many plot there were, it could've been a much better movie, especially given the director.
I liked the first the best as well. The second was okay, but I was a bit disappointed. For one thing, they used the mask gag way too much. Also, the climactic firefight, with Mr. Hunt dual-wielding pistols, seemed a little silly. I really thought the third one made up for all of the second one's problems, and Philip Seymour Hoffman was great, as always.

Oh, and I'm not a big fan of Tom Cruise's silly shenanigans, but he's still a decent actor.
