Kick ass. Not sure if the gameplay will be cool or not, but it will be well worth a try I think.

He cut the possum's face off then cut around the eye socket. In the center of the belt buckle, where the possum's eye would be, he has placed a small piece of wood from his old '52 Ford's home made railroad tie bumper. Damn, he misses that truck.

Really looking forward to exploring, Indian mythology in a quality game, woot!

Only concerns are Doom3 netcode and Doom3 inablity to do quality outdoor enviorments.

Please, oh please don't let the Doom3 engine cause suckage to the great teams at Human Head and 3DRealms, best of luck. :AndTheCroudGoesWild: Cheers

"Doom3 inablity to do quality outdoor enviorment"

Clearly you haven't seen some of the screenshots from Quake Wars. The D3 engine is more than capable of good looking outdoor environments. It's no Crysis, but should be fine.

Doom 3 is incapable of doing outdoor environments... with the polycounts of Doom 3's interior environments. Remember how utterly complex some those corridors were? (those bright enough to be seen at any rate)

I can't imagine that level of detail on a scheme as great as, say, Half-Life 2's boat/car levels.

Human Head's "greatness" has yet to be established. Their first game, Rune, was mediocre at best. Their last game, Dead Man's Hand, was just terrible. Prey will be the game that will either elevate them or bury them. As for 3DRealms... no comment necessary.

With that said, I'm still looking forward to the game and hope it will be good.

On Steam that hour of gameplay would cost $5 $9.95 (since nothing sells for less).

Kudos to Human Head for putting out a demo to a Doom 3 engine game before the release of the full version.

One hour in a demo? Well, first, they actually mean 20-30 minutes; second, this is as close to a guarantee that it'll be as diluted (and, therefore, as boring) as Rune as we'll get.
Indian mythology in a quality game
C'mon... Prey will be about Indian mythology in the same way that Shadow Warrior is about Eastern philosophy.

A product that starts years after development of Duke Nukem Never Ever, gets cancelled, gets resumed and still releases before Duke Nukem Never Ever.

Yes and I have to say that releasing a demo long before the game hits shelves is a good sign of the quality of the game. They have confidence that a demo won't hurt sales.

Unlike the other devs/publishers out there...

After seeing it demo'ed at E3, I think I'll end up really liking the game. But, it doesn't really matter how good the game ends up being, there will be a ton of gaming purists that will call the game crap simply because it uses the Doom3 engine.

From all the videos I've seen, it looks WAY better than Doom 3.
