The Ship Simulator 2006 Website (thanks
Frans) now offers a playable demo for this seafaring simulation "whereby you get
the ability to steer various ships in different environments." So grab your
skipper's cap and your Gilligan and hit the high seas.
All I gotta say is...why? Most of the big ships are slow as hell as hell, playing this game will be like watching paint dry. Unless you think surfing the wave at 15 knots in a curise ship is exciting.
A ship steering simulator? I am reading that right...It's so generic sounding, though. I imagine there would be a considerable amount of detail that could go into running an oil tanker, but for a game? Eh, why not?
As near as I could tell, the demo only has one controllable vessel (a harbor patrol boat). I guess if you want to drive the Titanic or Bismarck you have to get the full version.
