My time is at a premium, and I imagine, so is the time of a lot of other older gamers.
I just really don't understand this argument. What, do you HAVE to finish a game in one session or something? Do you have some weird fetish against saving at ANY time, even at the end of levels, so you must finish without interruption?
If a game is 20 hours, that means you could not just play five sessions of four hours each? That game is, somehow, "too long?"
I agree that if a game is nothing but filler, it's bullshit, but let's get to Half Life 2 here. The "story" (snort) in that game could easily have been told in about three chapters. So the rest, really, is just filler. I don't hear you bitch about HL2 being too long?
Did you consider Deus Ex (the original) too long as well?
Hey, keep buying the four hour games for 20 bucks guys, the publishers will GLADLY rape what's left of the game industry to suit your short attention spans. Soon all we'll have is 3 hour games.
Btw, I love how ep1 apparently has quite a few bits set in the dark, but here it's "cool" and "edgy", whereas everyone was bitching about shit being too dark in Doom 3.
It's also cool how everyone whines about Bethesda releasing content for a few bucks and that it's WAAAAAYYY too short, but a four hour expansion is just fine?
