bowl designed to keep dogs from eating too fast (thanks Ant). A good idea,
but I'm not convinced… Gunnar eats two meals a day that are each over a pound of meat in probably
about two minutes all told, and it looks like the only way that bowl would slow
him down is the time it would take to eat the plastic nubs.

I think what I used to give was something like 3CCs (a very very small amount)...of course, by the end of her life, she'd lost a lot of weight, and was maybe around 5 pounds (some people would say thats normal for a cat, but the one I have now is 16 pounds (and she ain't fat, either)!).
Probably 3 units - there are 100 units/ml (1 ml = 1 cc) and our about 24 lb dog gets 14 units 2x/day.
There will come a moment when you have the chance to do the right thing.
