bowl designed to keep dogs from eating too fast (thanks Ant). A good idea,
but I'm not convinced… Gunnar eats two meals a day that are each over a pound of meat in probably
about two minutes all told, and it looks like the only way that bowl would slow
him down is the time it would take to eat the plastic nubs.

She gets insulin shots 2x a day - 14 units each.I think what I used to give was something like 3CCs (a very very small amount)...of course, by the end of her life, she'd lost a lot of weight, and was maybe around 5 pounds (some people would say thats normal for a cat, but the one I have now is 16 pounds (and she ain't fat, either)!).
She actually comes over and sits on the kitchen rug waiting for it before I give it to her.
Mine would have a can of cat food every morning, and I'd give her the shot in the scruff of her neck while she ate - and she hardly noticed.
Up until that point, I'd always been squeamish of needles and blood. But after a few years of giving the cat shots, I had no problems...
I got that cat when I was 6 or 7, and she died when I was 23...I still think about her, and the other one I lost last year.
