I consider milking a product as one where you keep charging for basic content additions that should be mods in an attempt to make the product seem new.... aka an EA Games Expansion.
Creating an update to a product and not charging for it is just a way to make fans happy as well as get people to either buy the game if they haven't already or bring them back into it. Besides, it does nothing but help keep intrest alive before the sequel comes out.
