Safecracker Announced

The Adventure Company announces development of a new puzzle game called Safecracker (though this may be some sort of rehash or remake of a game of the same name from many years ago). Here's word:
April 20, 2006 – The Adventure Company, a leading publisher of PC adventure games is pleased to announce Safecracker, a unique puzzle adventure game with 35 unique safes to crack.

Storyline:
You are hired by the wealthy family of a recently deceased billionaire to search for the last will and testament of their late relative, Duncan Walter Adams, who was “eccentric” to say the least. He has hidden the deed to his riches in one of the safes scattered in his magnificent mansion. The deceased billionaire also happened to be an avid safe collector and you have been hired to crack all 35 of them! The stakes are high and the clues are scarce. You will need your experience, wits, deductive reasoning and puzzle solving skills to earn your pay check.

Features:

    • A challenging puzzle adventure game with 35 unique safes to crack
    • Explore 40 lavish and intriguing rooms of an extravagant mansion created in great detail
    • Decipher unexpected clues inside each safe that will help you open the others ultimately leading you to the master safe
    • The ultimate challenge for puzzle enthusiasts and wanna-be safecrackers
    • From the developers of Return to Mysterious Island

The stakes are high?? how so?? It's not like you are breaking into a bank and only have 10 minutes or will be caught...this is just a job to make some money for some safe collector who died

You will need your experience...

my experience in safe cracking?? ack, better be a demo then.

Maybe they can make the Stakes: if you fail to open this safe in 10 minutes Starforce will be installed on your system.

Anyhow, all attempted humour aside, I'd play it for originality's sake, though I do wish the storyline was a bit more exciting than just appeasing some family and their deed issue.

This sounds like the kind of game that would really be fun to play on the NDS.

I'm a bit sad that we haven't had any more Zoop's or tetris' in a long time... yes Bejeweled is kinda addicting and the fact I can play it while sittin' on the toilet is nice... but honestly... when was the last simple and enjoyable puzzle game released?

myst? pyst? myst VIII: the vengence of fog?

safecracking? ok kinda fun idea... a bit edgy but still thought intensive.

Storyline? ok myst / 7th guest and those things did have kind of a fun story line, so yah a better storyline than "get dead dude's stuff out" would be desireable... but still, if there was a demo, and the challenges engrossing but not insanely difficult,,,, i'd give it a spin

I had a big thing with Luxor for quite a while. It was kinda cool because it combined puzzle with some action. Made it more fun IMHO.

Sounds cool, in a budget game sort of way...

edit: If nothing else, it's original.

Lumines and Meteos were both released just last year. Lumines is by far the most addictive game I have ever played, and Meteos is the best multiplayer puzzle game since Tetris Attack/Panel de Pon/Pokemon Puzzle League

i wish someone could explain to me what the hell i'm missing with lumines. it was one of the first psp games i bought after hearing all the rave reviews, but i just don't get it. it's not at all fun and i love these games. i feel like i'm missing some crucial element to how you're supposed to get combos or whatever. not to mention that god awful music makes me want to kill myself.

Meteos... once the blocks grew rocket boosters and started flying around the screen I turned the game off.

Tetris DS is pretty fun. The push mode is great multiplayer greatness and so is mission.

I bought this game once from a value bin. It didn't work in XP or compatibility mode and needed quicktime 2 or something.

Yeah, Lumines is awful. Could only manage 5 minutes before wanting to stab my ears with knitting needles.

Im pretty sure i heard of this game a long time ago. So a rerelease? Its a cool idea to be sure. Definately could be a cool idea on the DS.
