Into the Black

I had huge slowdowns on my computer today until I realized that Outlook was leaving copies of all my mail on the server again. This is starting to make me crazy(er)… it does not take long for my mail flow to fill my mailbox, and things sure do bog down when that starts to happen.

Well, seeing as I've had none of those, I see no reason to switch. I love 2003...

Yes, but you are not a moron who opens/clicks to open up all the "hotsex0r.exe"'s and the like.

How many viruses, worms, security holes, security patches, crashs, corrupted mail boxes, lost mails, lost settings. etc etc... Does it take before a sane person stops using Outlook?

Not sure what you mean by diary/planner exactly.
There is Sunbird:
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/sunbird.html
That is a calendar/organizer/planner.

OT: Can anyone recommend a decent diary / planner software for XP? I want something small and fast which I can type in stuff I have to remember and then either check it myself or have it pop up when I click the systray icon or something. Not some bloatware shit, something which uses as little memory as possible if it's gonna run in the background.

Cheers!

Question of the day:
How many viruses, worms, security holes, security patches, crashs, corrupted mail boxes, lost mails, lost settings. etc etc... Does it take before a sane person stops using Outlook?

Tip:
If you're reading this using IE then you're not a sane person and don't count!

Just as well they didn't sneak in an image of Muhammad Ali. THEN they would have really been in trouble.

Just switch your mail user agent. If you really can't import your existing database--which I find very hard to believe--keep using Outlook (Express?) to manage your old mail and use your shiny new MUA for the new mail. There are lots of options, Thunderbird is just one of them, although it's certainly a good start.

Finals site: http://icpc.baylor.edu/icpc/Finals/default.htm

the Java challenge sounds interesting:
Teams will be given specifications for an object.
These specifications will include a set of interfaces to be implemented and a goal for the object to achieve when in competition with other team's objects. Capabilities include observation of the progress of other team's objects and measures that can be taken to block that progress. The winning team object will be determined in a game environment while competing with others.

To compete, your team must succeed at building the object.
But to win, your team's strategy must be superior to that of your opponents.

As pointed out on digg.com, Muhammad has been there in the intro for this entire season.
