In an attempt to co-opt this as the generic Oblivion thread...
Has anyone noticed the AI doing some rather bizarre things? I had 3 weird experiences in my last session. First off, I was rather bored, so I chucked some lightning at a guard to have some fun killing people. Then I summoned a wraith to play with them (I was up some stairs, so they couldn't get to me immediately). A bunch of people (about 3 guards, 3 civilians) ended up fighting the wraith. Finally the wraith vanished, and I expected to get hit by the guards. Instead, they all began fighting amongst themselves. It was a big melee, 5 guys (1 of them had already died) fighting it out. Finally, 1 guard emerged victorious, at which point he did the "pay/fight/jail" stuff.
Second oddness - I was in a tavern, and I was waiting for someone to show up (quest related). Got bored again, and there was this one dark elf that wouldn't talk to me. So I pulled out the sword and attacked him. He, of course, immediately hostiled me and attacked back. At which point everyone else in the bar attacked him (and killed him). No one else attacked me, or seemed annoyed with me at all.
The third one was the weirdest, I was enroute to a quest spot. A bandit attacked me along the way, I got the whole 'combat music' going, heard the arrows, found and killed him. Music went back to the nice traveling theme. But I could still hear arrows being fired. So I went in that direction, and found an Imperial Forrester Guard shooting, so I assumed there was another bandit in the area. But still, strangely, no change in music. So I look around, and I finally find what he's shooting at - another Imperial Forrester Guard. The two of them shot at each other for over 5 minutes before one finally killed the other. No other bodies in the area, absolutely nothing to explain why they decided to use each other for target practise.
The part about this that confuses me, however, is the fact I'd never run into anything like those before. Sure, I'd accidentally hit friendlies in combat and had them hostile me, but never anything like that. So was it just a flukey session? Anyone else seen the AI behave as strangely?
