A sliding scale makes sense, but if that's the implementation, that enemies get further from you instead of closer... dumb.
I've found items to be horribly boring in this game, too. No playing, no mixing, and fine swords aren't necessarily better than rusty. You can't put gems in them, etc. Unless things change, the item system just feels bland. And maybe I'm just not far enough, but do rings to prevent frost damage really make a difference? Is the only frost coming from ememy spells? Does anyone here actually use poison vials? Or cast spells on enemies to prevent them from casting spells, or to lower their fatigue, or what have you?
So much of this game feels just bland or useless. Don't get me wrong, I'm having a blast, but the item system and many of the magic spells just leave something to be desired.
