MechCommander 2 Shared Source Release on the Microsoft Website (thanks
Shacknews) has the
public release of the source code for the tactical Mech combat game. Word is:
"This is the Shared Source release for MechCommander 2. This release contains
all of the source code an source assets required to build MechCommander 2. This
release can be used with the Microsoft XNA Build March 2006 CTP."

Actually I think it uses the C drive to decompress files and then installs to the drive of your choice. You should notice you get all the space back off of C.

I think the installer is buggy. I have my TEMP & TMP pointing to different drives. The installer itself finds the drive with the max amount of space to stick the source onto, but then, it checks the space on C, and that is the issue, even though it shouldn't be using C for anything.
any new mech game would be fun.. especially a MMO

i enjoyed mech commander 2 and was looking forward to a next installment.
hell.. any mech game would do, as long as it feels more like a game, and less like work.
I played Mechwarrior, enjoyed it thoroughly.. played Mechwarrior 2 and its addons.. loved em. Then came Mech 3 and the game had WAY too many controls..felt like a job and less like fun. When I have to map out 90% of my keyboard and have a joystick with 22 buttons.... i get confused

This game was actually kind of fun to play, but the story and cutscenes were simply horrible.
Clancy: Lots of stuff. Annoying indeed. I hate those shared component ones.
where will we have to go for builds you dont have to compile? Also is there multiplayer?
Why is it that even if you want to install this thing on a drive other that C:, that it still has to install crap to C?
