I bought Daikatana for $5 from a surplus store - original packaging. No reason to pass up something that costs a Happy Meal. Plus you get to own Daikatana. Come on its such a legend its worth owning! I installed it and played it for a few hours. Honestly if I could jump right to that Greek Mythology area I'd play that segment - but the rest of the game was just lacking. Saying it sucks ass may be popular to say but in reality its just lacking or lame - that a better description of the gameplay. The Greek part though - frankly it was pretty fun in the Demo release. I just can't get motivated to get there in the retail game.

You can't ask for better marketing than this.
Agreed. They'd be insane to change the name.

That said, "Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka 2: Evening on the Eve of Ivan Kupal Holiday" is one serious mouthful. Fifteen words!? I'd not be surprised if that turned out to be quite the longest game title in history

I can't wait for Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka 3: Mutant Bloodbath Apocalypse.

When they stumble upon this old house near Dikanka they were hungry but they also were horny, so horny that they were actually planning on screwing this old, old lady who lived in the house and fed them. I don’t know if that’s going to be in the game but it was funny nevertheless.

PS I just remember that actually the old lady wanted to screw those guys and not the other way. Anyway it was long time ago when I read it.

Is this the origin of the joke whose punchline involves a guy eating hot, buttered corn outside a window?

. To date this is one of the most awful piece of crap games ever

Hey, come on. It wasn't THAT bad. In fact, it was (after some patching) quite entertaining. But it was certainly NOT the masterpiece everyone expected after all the hype Ion Storm and Romero fueled with this ridiculous ad campaign.

I would like to see this company succeed so I sent them the follow message. Hope they run with it... but if not oh well... I tried.

Hi Guys!

Would like to give a friendly bit of advice if you plan on selling your game here in the States. The collective PC gaming community had a game call Daikatana released in the 90s from John Romero and Ion Storm. To date this is one of the most awful piece of crap games ever. In fact so many of us are still jaded from that game that when Bluesnews.com posted the headline on their site many posted messages basically saying "damn I thought this was Daikatana 2"...

http://www.bluesnews.com/cgi-bin/board.pl?action=viewthread&threadid=65246&boardid=1&id=305717&start=0

I would recommend seriously thinking about a name change... the last thing you want is to have U.S. gamer mistaking your game for a Daikatana sequal.

Hope this helps and good luck with your game!

It's stupifying how many of us saw "Daikatana 2", me included. This must say SOMETHING about how gamers' brains are wired.

Cause we're all dyslexic! And it probably shows how scarred we are from that "experience".

While we're on the subject of names:... "Dikanka 2: NOT Daikatana 2" they will almost need to add that if they hope to be successful.

Here to AceKicker winning this money, I too saw Daikatana the first two times I read the head line. It wasn't until I started reading through the body of the press release that the world is in fact not going to end.

The funny part is that the young guys in the story are student priests from a monastery. When they stumble upon this old house near Dikanka they were hungry but they also were horny, so horny that they were actually planning on screwing this old, old lady who lived in the house and fed them.

Wow...that actually sounds like it would make a better game than Daikatana.
