What do you think OEM versions are? All of my copies of XP are just that.
Granted, but it seemed, I dunno. Shoddy. They had another OEM version for 139 that at least came in a box. I'm one of those old fashioned morons that will pay 25 bucks for a box.Again, I'll recommend Knoppix -- works with XP just fine and it's free. Has backup software and partition resizing/moving/etc, along with a ton of other stuff.
Meh, my buddy has been trying to convince me hard that some freeware thing together with Bart's PE disk will do the Ghost thing too, but you know what? I KNOW how to work Ghost, and I KNOW it works. All the time. I've NEVER had Ghost fail on me, ever. (knock on wood).
So while I could try to figure out how to do the freeware thing, and learn what it needs, and how it does it, and then if it fails, how to fix it, etc, I've recently decided that the hours of time that I need to learn all that shit are more important to me than the 60 bucks it costs me to install ghost and just run the backup.
I'm just not that hardcore anymore.
However, that doesn't mean I don't appreciate the advice, which I do. Thanks
