Wow, AA is actually signifigant now. I can actually shoot down aircraft with some amount of certaintly of actually hitting something. I used to find more usefull as an anti-infantry weapon than anything else.

They fixed some areas of the game, but screwed up others. If you are going to come out with a patch for a game fix the problems that need to be fixed and leave all the other non problems alone. Perfect example, anti-tank guy. Standing a few inches/feet away from tank, apc, aa, jeep etc... and fire your rocket and watch it go right through the vehicle. Doesnt sound like they fixed any acc. for that weapon/guy. The last patch they had is sadly as good if not better than the new one. How can you have a major company that produces games and cant fix the smallest issues or bugs. The people who work on the patches and fixes bugs for this game should be shot, revived and shot again for being ignorant. EA you guys should consider getting a new line of work if you cant get the line you're in to workout!

What are all the red markers on maps for? They appear to be distances but I don't understand their significance.

Yes for the most part although my friends swears last night someone on our team was coming up with a red tag so, its probably not 100 percent squashed.

Your whole post from the beginning till the end doesn't make much sense......

Why would some one want to remove bullet impacts on the water-surface and leave them in for the ground-surface.. I don't know about you but I have 95 % of my small arms firefights on the land...

And if those feature removals where done to speed up things and remove lag, why hasn't it been mentioned at the patch readme feature list ?

Why cutting a whole feature out if it could be left optional, so ppl with slow internet connections and low computer hardware could just turn it off, whereas ppl like me who would like to invest their extra fps into more beauty could leave it on ?

Wondering; has anyone had problems with this? I seem to be getting crashes to desktop every 15 minutes now, not sure why. Technically neither my gfx card or OS is actually up to the min spec, so I can't really whine, but still........

How much are you actually playing the game if you're really bothered by these insiginificant things? Personally I'm glad they focused on fixing the actual gameplay.

(Note: it's not improbable to think that they removed the effects because of the lag it caused people without uber setups, ie. who still wanted shadows on other things. Or perhaps it was just a sideffect of some renderer optimizations.)

The 1.2 patch didn't fix the following issues: There are still no watersplashes from small arms bullets and the trees are still not casting shadows on vehicles/players/viewweapons....

I think it really is time to see what they actually changed to disable those things..........

For me this is not a small but a very BIG issue...... I mean leaving tree shadows and water splashes optional should be the way to go.... For gfx geeks like me it's just a crime to brutally disable those features..... I mean common guys, this takes all the cool atmosphere away.....

I just upgraded and my menu says: 1.1.2696-528.0. Hmm! The game still seems to work online.

Same here, that seems to be the proper internal version number for update 1.2

Blue did link Fileplanet for once. It was pretty hypocritical of him not to while linking the other major exclusive hog, Gamespot, and others

who cares. Blue can do whatever the hell he wants, and certainly FILEPLANET or GAMESPY can go to hell, and no, it's not another one of those mindeless unpurposed hating speeches.

Gamespy is evil. They are nothing but a wreckeless bunch of thieves who will love you first and screw you later. Oh yes!

It's when you jump into the air, go prone, and shoot at your enemy while you descend. You look like a dolphin... shooting bullets. Yeah.

What is dolphin diving? I've heard people bitch about it since the game was released but I never knew what it was.

Is it when you jump off the side of an aircraft carrier into water?

I will try it out later.
Thanks for all the input...but seriously, I think the C4 thing for me might make me stop playing.

I will try it out, and if I can't do what I want with it, I am done with the game. Plain and simple. There is just no way to take out the vehicles sometimes, and throwing C4 was a big part of the game. I don't see why they thought it needed to stop.

The incremental patch asked me for about 1400 megs of free space ... for a 80 meg patch, oh yeah. Its worth it though, the changes are awesome. You can totally pick people off with MGs now. Its crazy actually seeing people play support now.

This patch is excellent. Very excellent. The best change, in my mind, is in that the Anti-Air / Air-to-air missiles are actually decently deadly all of a sudden. It's definately a pleasant change, since it gives the folks on the ground a chance and makes it less like the people in the air are playing a wholly different game. Of course, really skilled players may adapt, but now there's actually some difficulty involved.
