I don't care what ANYONE says.
That is just straight up funny.

If it were a parent, it's fucked up. A sibling...well, that's still fucked up, but damn...the circumstances would be different anyway.

Eh, never had sibling growing up, so I'm inept in the ways of sibling warfare.

But on the other hand... he's not hurt (physically anyway), he's well fed, and he has a roof over his head, so I think he'll be ok. The worst part about it is he might never be able to play another video game. All he'll be left with is playing outside in the fresh air - running, jumping, getting into good shape... the horror, the horror.

Good lord, man! Don't talk like that! We could have the next Jack Thompson on our hands here, scarred for life by video games at a young age!

Hmmmm...you don't that maybe thats JTs problem, do ya?

Still feel bad for the kid...

I know what you mean. There's that whiny cry that you mostly hear from kids that basically just puts you on edge, but this kid's crying is genuine, and it kind of breaks your heart.

Actually, I don't know why I assume this was his dad anyway, it looks more like the work of an older brother... I should know, I am an older brother and probably would have done this to my sister.

That's a good point. Siblings do tend to torture the shit out of each other...odd you brought that up, as just today a coworker (on the topic of growing up) was talking about how his older sister used to hit him with the fly-swattter, as it didn't leave marks...

Still feel bad for the kid...

Do you guys know basic physics? How is it logically possible to gain weight if you eat the same amount of energy that your body needs to survive? Please explain, it will be a huge breakthrough in all known science.
Dark Matter.

and as Woody Allen prophesied over 30 years ago, forseeing all the nonsense about low-fat diets and health food being completely worthless -

Sleeper (1973)
Dr. Melik: [puzzling over list of items sold at Miles' old health-food store] ... wheat germ, organic honey and... tiger's milk.
Dr. Aragon: Oh, yes. Those are the charmed substances that some years ago were thought to contain life-preserving properties.
Dr. Melik: You mean there was no deep fat? No steak or cream pies or... hot fudge?
Dr. Aragon: [chuckling] Those were thought to be unhealthy... precisely the opposite of what we now know to be true.
Dr. Melik: Incredible!

The only thing you have succeeded in is showing what a fucking asshole you are. I don't see how you are "preventing people from suffering". If you want to prevent anything...just shut the F up.

I don't mean to, but for some reason, the f-in-heimer has been coming from me a lot. Sorry.

Like I said, I'm hoping it was just a case of poor judgement on the parent's part, hoping the kid would just get a quick shock and then laugh it off like some kids would. If you notice, the camera operator doesn't exactly yuk it up afterwards. Again though, he didn't feel bad enough not to post it on the internet.

Sure the kid eventually runs away and cries but you have to give him some credit since his first reaction was fight over flight. Smack that monitor!

I could see where dad might think this would be funny but I sure hope he felt at least a little bad about it afterwards. Of course not bad enough to post it on the internet.

LOL!!!!!! That's friggin great!

Poor kid, he probably pissed himself and won't be able to sleep for a weak. So I feel sorry for him.

But still, LOL!

I will always think it's 100%.. I just can't fathom how it makes any sense that you can need to consume 'extra calories' to survive. If your body truly didn't use those 'extra calories', they would pass out your digestive system.

Did you even read what you said?
Extra calories pass out your digestive system? If this was true, it would be impossible for anybody to get fat! Your body will NOT throw away any extra calories, again another result of evolution and not always having food. A small percent does pass out your body as waste, but your solid waste is 90% indigestible and unusable material by your body (unless you are sick or something else is wrong with you).

don't see how anyone can argue that fat people and their associated health problems don't create a greater load on society as a whole, as well as making the USA (in this case) look like nothing more than a bunch of fat-asses consuming anything they can get grab with their pudgy little fingers. Ultimately I'm trying to prevent people from suffering, and ultimately I believe I have succeeded.

That point was never addressed. And if I where to address it I would agree with your points, but in not such an offensive and rude matter. I would also say it is their bodies, let them do what they want to it. And thus now the conversation can go back yet again to the legalization of drugs issue!

Well, either you're a troll or in real life a real jerk. 1 or 2 inflamatory posts is one thing, posting several is another. Thanks for your "help" in the form of angry public announcements, but I ask you go on your merry way.

Believe or don't, I could care less. Obviously it's a minute percentage anyway, so it doesn't matter. But you're being highly judgemental. Not all fat people are lazy slobs that eat messy sandwhiches while taking up 2 seats on the subway.

Some of us watch what we eat and work out; but you should research this. Not everyone has the same bodytype. Unless you were a fit and skinny kid that ballooned for some reason, you could loose a A LOT of weight and never look like some skinny actor; just a lot better off than you were.

How am I a drain on the society? I make a (very) high annual salary, make donations, help out my parents, keep myself and my area clean, etc. I don't buy buttloads of food that results in me throwing stuff out (ever hear of leftovers). I don't buy more than 1 person's alotment, and I don't eat Twinkies/chips/cake/etc, so don't worry your share is still there.

Likewise, I know VERY FIT people with diabetes. It doesn't just come from overeating; it's heriditary and you can get it as a young kid. Sure, you can also get it from bad eating habits, but that's not the majority of the cases. Either way, once you have it you have to watch what you do or you'll lose a limb/eyesight. So once there, you HAVE to eat right.

So try cracking a book and lay off your prejudices/stereotypes/small-minded-ness.

But, like I said, I do not think we should be spouting genetic disorder as much as “we” are. 99.99999999% of fat people are fat because of their (or parents if they are still young) bad decisions.

I will always think it's 100%.. I just can't fathom how it makes any sense that you can need to consume 'extra calories' to survive. If your body truly didn't use those 'extra calories', they would pass out your digestive system. In fact, this is what happens with diabetics, as their urine will contain unprocessed sugar - but the sugar is effectively wasted (I suppose you could argue it keeps microbes in the sewers alive).. It doesn't get packed on as fat.

Regardless of whether some people just magically gain weight despite their not actually eating anything (ooh, magic!), I don't see how anyone can argue that fat people and their associated health problems don't create a greater load on society as a whole, as well as making the USA (in this case) look like nothing more than a bunch of fat-asses consuming anything they can get grab with their pudgy little fingers. Ultimately I'm trying to prevent people from suffering, and ultimately I believe I have succeeded. Enjoy.

Firing down range is firing down range, any way you look at it. I'm not all that familiar with hunting, but you should be able to keep track of who is where at all times.

The "party line" is that the lawyer left the group to pick up a bird he'd shot, and that Cheney wasn't aware. Bird's aren't deer, they take off and you have to be able to get 'em. You're kind of working with a 180 (sometimes 360) degree "range," but you have to be smart about it if you do it that way that you don't hit anyone. Unfortunately, a bird took off and while tracking hit he hit the guy who wandered away from the group, and Cheney didn't think to check before shooting (a big mistake in my book).

Take with grain of salt.

This could all be BS. He could have mis-fired or done something even dumber than they're saying. Unfortunately we have no way of knowing what really happened. So for now, I'll buy the party line, I'll just be skeptical.

A friend's father got shot in the head with birdshot once. He was walking through a (private) field, and a homeless guy shot him while illegally (very illegally) hunting turkeys. No permit of any kind, no license for the shotgun, and hunting on some private field (not to mention non-zoned for hunting).

Unfortunately, my friend's dad caught a few pellets in the brain and now get's seizures

I pretty sure that he was folling a bird in flight with his gun in a direction the thought was safe. When you're tracking a target like that you plan to pull the trigger at a certain point before you're actually looking at that point. The dude was supposedly walking in the firing arc and not the safe lane.
