There's a lot of pieces to the Symantec suite so I could see how it could be called Bloatware. It's very hard to disable and get it completely out of memory. Hell, it's pretty hard just to get it to uninstall. I have had numerous problems with various versions of Norton that had the installer fail and then would not run again, nor would it allow a new version to be installed.

Norton is pushing away from "just antivirus" and going into "we fix everything," and it's a pain in the ass in a lot of cases. For instance, its firewall program that is installed blocks local network traffic. You can see other computers. You can ping them. They can't ping you. I can understand this to a point when it comes to internet security, but blocking local traffic?
