thought it was OK. I only played the tutorials so far. The game does feel slow pace when too many units are on screen. I have an Athlon 64 3200+ with 2 GB of RAM, GeForce 6800 (128 MB; AGP), Windows XP Pro. SP2, etc. I do like the heroes, power, etc. I was bummed only to find skirmish for single player.

I don't think I will be getting the full game. Nice engine of C&C:G though.

Yes the speeds do keep going up and up...

As do their rates.

Don't kid yourselves (and pat Comcast on the back too strongly), you wind up paying dearly for any increases eventually (their rates go up semi-regularly, a few times every year). Like now, the rates are about to increase yet again (if it hasn't kicked in already). And I'm already paying sky-high for the service! Well, at least to our family it's sky-high.

I laugh at their commercials where they sing their own praises whenever they increase speeds "at no additional cost". Right. Don't worry, just give it a few months and you'll start hearing about rate increases. They just give you a little grace period to get hooked on on it, that's all. You'll pay for every MB soon enough, man. They're not generously giving you anything for free.

Yeah, demo is just ok so far what I've played. I wish the camera zoomed out farther though. Some of the screens of the game look like they are zoomed pretty far, but in the demo I couldn't get out that much. However, I might have missed something that allows it to zoom out more.

The mini-map isn't all that mini (even when I upped the res it didnt seem to change), but its nice how there isn't much else on the screen. Some options pop-up or scroll out from the side when needed like the build screen.

I don't know if you noticed it or not, Xero, but the pathfinding doesn't seem too good. My squad of infantry got in its own way sometimes when trying to attack an enemy that was right next to 'em.

Ok and aside from people talking about how long it took on their shitty connections, I'll go and actually talk about the demo. Ya know the thing you'll eventually get to play once you finish talking about how bad your connection sucks. Well the graphics are nice. Gameplay is sorta dull. I don't think you can do much nowadays to reinvent or create an addictive enough new RTS experience. I'll still stick to warcraft 3.

Yes the speeds do keep going up and up... up to 8M links now.

Huh, I was wondering about that too. I have the 4Mbps connection, yet about a week ago I was downloading at 6Mbps. I know 6 and 8Mbps connections are available, but we've only paid for the 4.

Edit: Post here if you see a fast download. All are pretty slow right now but AOL is coming in at 550kb/sec for me right now.

Cool, AOL is pretty quick. It started over 1MB/s but now its holding steady at 760KB/s with over 30% done.

My cock is now available for GameSpot to suck. No subscription required.

Do we have to wait in line or can we just drive right in? And I suppose we'll have to give you our address and email...

I haven't played an RTS in a long time, and I fully expected to be surprised by how far the genre would be now. Imagine my disappointment when I played this game.

Honestly, I don't know why anyone would play this game instead of Warcraft III, and that is a few years old already. Its fairly standard stuff - you may like it for the setting - I find it quite cheesy.

There are no advances in troop control, and all battles ultimately dissolve into chaos and are decided by sheer numbers. The two birds that appear in the tutorial are really funny, and the animation for them is really bad. Otherwise, the game looks quite good - although the buildings seem lit only by ambient color - very little shadow detail there.

There are a fair amount of units on the screen, but since they are hard to control, it quickly becomes quite confusing.

Building of your base has some advantages - like the interesting wall building method - but overall its too run-of-the-mill.

This whole genre is long overdue for an overhaul. This aint it.

Yeah really. They torrent much smaller files, but when it comes to a 1.4GB file there is no torrent to be found.

What ever happened to File Rush?
