Into the Black

We are almost recovered from our exhaustion from babysitting over the weekend. I do not know how you actual parents manage it as a full-time situation, I honestly don't.

Trust us, Blue, there are times we don't either.

On the plus side, our son, who turns 3 in a couple weeks, has started sleeping through the night about 6 nights a week! Whatever internal mechanism was causing him to wake up every night (and usually more than once) has apparently shut down for the most part (knock on wood).

Jeremy, I am so ready to take it to the next level.
Really?
Yeah. Do you want to watch me with another girl? How about those Brazilian twins we met at the ball game?

So, anyone not planning on having children of their own? I was just curious. Ah, not quite sure I would have the patience myself.

[edit] Actually I admire the people who have the patience for children; especially the day in, day out dynamics of it all.

Try having 4 kids from 9 months to 5 years. 11pm to 7am work for me then the wife works from 9am to 6pm. 3 hours of sleep then rinse and repeat. It may be killing me but I dont trust daycare or babysitters. I havent been to a movie in almost 5 years.

There is a reason someone invented condoms

Here's a link to my 1 month old nephew I just got back from visiting.
http://mystudio.kiddiekandids.com/viewshare.asp?c=574012527X8D28KBE
Apparently he's been a very 'easy' baby, as he sleeps the majority of the night, anytime he gets in his car-seat he's out like a light for 6 hours and hardly spits up, except for his rare moment when he likes to protectile vomit on only males that are holding him (me and my brother in law). The only thing that really scared me is when he sleep all of a sudden he sticks his arms out like trying to grab something, and noone forwarned me about this (not to mention the Diapers of DOOM*add echo here*. But he's cute when he sleeps cause he gets all these smiles and smirks on his face. Between you guys and me (knowing how my sister and brother in law are) he's probably planning world domination as we speak.

And thanks to everyone for their kind words, I'm on a new path in my life, and I highly suggest reading the book 'A million broken pieces' reguardless of what Oprah says about it. Got about halfway through it and gonna pick it up soon to finish it.

Congrats on the new path - hope it is all you want it to be.

As far as the book goes, as long as you consider it to be a work of fiction instead of a biography, whatever floats your boat.

Personally, I hate people trying to pull shit over on me, even if it is just to sell me a book.

i think anyone who pulls one over on Oprah so hard deserves all the millions of bux he gets

SUCK IT DOWN OPRAH!! .. tell us of your woe, and put it in your next issue of "O" magazine, which graciously features a brand new picture of your worshipfulness on each cover, every month for the past decade - and let everyone at Harpo know that you love your Harpo family since you started the Harpo production company with Harpo as the name which is undeniable due to the Harpo-ness of Harpo... HARPO HARPO HARPO HARPO HARPO.... *bzzt* !

Yeah I was a bit bummed about it not being all true, but there are some very underlying parts that rang very true, at least for myself.

But when did Oprah become Ms High and Mighty about what is Moraly correct and not? I caught part of her show where she kept saying 'lies' and 'lier' every sentence about the book to Frey. I wonder how many things she's had on her show that weren't always truthful?

Anyway the book is a good read, but it doesn't a bit of the 'good reading' out of it knowing it's not factual. But I really would like to see an add-on or the same book re-edited with the actual facts and see what really did happen.

Thanks Warhawk and thanks for the link.

You know, I can deal with all the political rants, nationalistic crap, and even the occasional blatent trolling... but I don't think I can handle this recent trend of topics involving Oprah.

But remeber, his story is not unique.
Although he adds some extra content for effect.....it is not that far fetched.
He may be writing about what he sees around him.

I don't really discount him that much fot it.
He isn't doing much outside of what the majority of these books do.

But, the message here, is that his "experience" is not unique. Go spend some time in a halfway house, volunteer in a shelter for a weekend, spend some time in the rehab area of the ER for drug related crimes or drug related mental problems.

Hey, anyone can write whatever he/she wants and make untold $$$ on it, I just hate people trying to pull shit over on other folks. I actually think O deserved what she got by not checking out the story first if she's going to be pimping these books. I like the fact the dude got nailed for lying about the book being biographical. If it's fiction, say it's fiction. If it's a mix of experiences from several guys he knew, just say so. If it is a work of fiction inspired by his experiences, cool. I'm not commenting on the content, just on his representation of it, which, when you look at it, goes contrary to his message about straightening out his life, doesn't it?
