Resident Evil 4, Onimusha 3: Demon Siege and Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening Special Edition Coming to PCs Beginning February 2006

SAN FRANCISCO – FEBRUARY 1, 2006 – Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, announced that it has signed an agreement with Capcom to distribute Resident Evil 4, Onimusha 3 and Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening Special Edition video games for the PC. Ubisoft will distribute Capcom’s games in North American and European territories beginning in February 2006 with the release of Onimusha 3: Demon Siege.

“Capcom has created fantastic universes which have become blockbuster franchises,” said Jay Cohen, vice president of publishing at Ubisoft. “Ubisoft is excited to be bringing three of the industry’s most innovative titles, including Resident Evil 4, which has been recognized by many publications and organizations as the best game of the year for 2005, to PC gamers around the world.”

Resident Evil 4 is a shining star in the survival horror genre garnering critical acclaim and numerous “Game of the Year” awards from media outlets including Game Informer magazine, North America’s largest gaming magazine and GameSpot.com, a leading source for gaming information. Onimusha 3: Demon Siege stars French actor Jean Reno and is the latest episode in the Onimusha franchise. This action adventure series has become a phenomenon thanks to its amazing backdrop in medieval Japan mixed with heroic fantasy elements. Devil May Cry made an outstanding debut on console and quickly became a popular action game. Renowned for its gothic atmosphere, non-stop action and thrilling combat, the latest installment to the franchise adds a new character a new boss and many new levels.

“Capcom is excited to be taking advantage of Ubisoft’s global distribution network to deliver our hottest titles for gamers around the world to play and enjoy,” said Toshihiro Tokumaru, executive officer at Capcom. “We look forward to working together for continued growth for both companies.''

As someone who has only been playing PC games, I'm eagerly awaiting RE4.

As am I. Onimusha and DMC3 I could care less about. Though it's gonna be wierd to play a shooter where you're punished for getting headshots.

It would be funny if this becomes a trend, you know, with PC being the "dead" gaming platform and all.

Who cares? There are some great console games that deserve to be on the PC more, but wouldn't make it had they debuted on that platform first. Frankly RE4 should've been out a long time ago on the PC.

Been waiting for RE4 for the PC. But I hope Ubisoft doesn't release it with Starforce.

I hope Ubisoft doesn't screw it up. Capcom PC ports have been hit or miss in quality but Ubisoft has done a good job with multiplatform games like Prince of Persia so hopefully they'll do a quality port of RE4, etc.

I've played through the GC and PS2 versions, I'll definitely play through the PC version if it doesn't suck.

Ubisoft. Just wonderful..ugh. You can bet these titles will ship with StarForce garbage. Ubisoft loves incorporating StarForce within its titles every chance it gets.

I was a big fan of the first two RE games (which I played on PS), but never played any after that. But, I heard really great things about RE4. Is it as good as the "reviews" said? Or have I been too jaded by my move to the PC to enjoy a console-port?

Could someone who has played RE4 share their thoughts on it as a PC gamer?

Great game! I never ever liked the previous RE games because the controls were horrible but after reading all the buzz for RE4 last year I checked it out and really got into it.

RE4 is arguably one of the best games of all time on any system.

Yeah I'm really hoping RE4 turns out well for the PC, and I have some mild curiousity about DMC3. But what's this about getting punished for headshots in RE4?

I would totally agree! I'm really excited to be able to play RE4 on the PC with keyboard and mouse control! Aiming the guns should be a lot easier and more efficient, not to speak of extra features such as better textures, higher resolution, longer draw distances and stuff like that.

I played RE4 when it was released for the Gamecube. I loved it. I mean, I REALLY loved it...and this coming from a PC gamer.

I didn't like having to constantly drag a preppy little rich girl around with me, but I will be going through the game a second time...this time on the PC.

A definite must buy.

Only bad thing is, (About the headshots) the villagers have a problem...you see. Don't shoot them in the head at night. Ahem

Also loved the semi-RPG aspect of upgrading and customizing your guns. Adding scopes, silencers, ect...I'd love to see the same weapon system in a PC FPS.

Holy crap, Nice. Almost predictable too, when you consider Capcom ports stuff to PC all the time, and absolutely never advertises such ports.

I have some mild curiousity about DMC3

I rented DMC3 a couple of weeks ago after never playing the series before. It has to be one of the most idiotic things I've ever had the misfortune of playing. The dialogue is so fucking painful that only 12 yr old pre-pubescent males could find anything to like about it (which, incidentally, is their biggest audience). the combat is "ok" but with Ninja Gaiden Black in my Xbox CD tray there wasn't much point in continuing with DMC's inferior combat.

oh, and the graphics really suck (even for a PS2 game)

Well when people consider buying a action game, it is true they usually think "well hows the story?". Actually no =p

I just bought the DMC3:SE last Sunday after reading it had some decent reviews and it was only 20 bucks. I just came off of playing God of War... thus far I am not too impressed with DMC. I had to put it on easy because it was so freaking hard my thumb was pretty tired as well.

I don't think the graphics are that bad... the anime style is nice. It looks like a Capcom game...

Anyway, I'm thinking DMC may not be my style. We just got a PS2 last Christmas and I've gotten into it more than I thought I would. So I figured DMC would be cool to add to the library. Maybe not... Tekken5 is cool though!
