Ubisoft announces an agreement with Capcom to bring three console titles to the
PC, confirming the recent listing of a PC edition of Resident Evil 4
(story). The other two games are Onimusha 3: Demon Siege and
Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening Special Edition, with Onimusha 3 due this
month:

SAN FRANCISCO – FEBRUARY 1, 2006 – Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, announced that it has signed an agreement with Capcom to distribute Resident Evil 4, Onimusha 3 and Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening Special Edition video games for the PC. Ubisoft will distribute Capcom’s games in North American and European territories beginning in February 2006 with the release of Onimusha 3: Demon Siege.
“Capcom has created fantastic universes which have become blockbuster franchises,” said Jay Cohen, vice president of publishing at Ubisoft. “Ubisoft is excited to be bringing three of the industry’s most innovative titles, including Resident Evil 4, which has been recognized by many publications and organizations as the best game of the year for 2005, to PC gamers around the world.”
Resident Evil 4 is a shining star in the survival horror genre garnering critical acclaim and numerous “Game of the Year” awards from media outlets including Game Informer magazine, North America’s largest gaming magazine and GameSpot.com, a leading source for gaming information. Onimusha 3: Demon Siege stars French actor Jean Reno and is the latest episode in the Onimusha franchise. This action adventure series has become a phenomenon thanks to its amazing backdrop in medieval Japan mixed with heroic fantasy elements. Devil May Cry made an outstanding debut on console and quickly became a popular action game. Renowned for its gothic atmosphere, non-stop action and thrilling combat, the latest installment to the franchise adds a new character a new boss and many new levels.

I'll take PC gaming any way I can get it. I can't play games on a console, now matter how good. PC controls have spoiled me, I guess.

From the reviews and comments in here, it sounds like RE4 can't possibly disappoint. I'll have to give it a look when it hits the PC.

RE4 made my entire gamecube purchase worthwhile, and I will definately be buying it for the PC, mouse aiming will (I hope) add even more fun to the carnage.

rented it for ps2. I might give it another shot for pc if the controls improve

Its been about a year since I played it all the way on the cube, but I remember after a while I had little/no complaints about the controls.

Go rent the game. If you can sit through the opening movie (the thing with the pizza tricks) without spooning your eyes out then I bow to your resilience.

These games, buy I will not.
I hear all these great things about RE4 but I played it for half an hour and couldn't get past the retarded controls. Why can't I at least walk slowly and aim at the same time, or switch between knife and gun more quickly. In silent hill you could do all of those things and the game was still scary as hell...
I was really looking forward to the boss battles I saw in the reviews too... I hope the controls are better on the PC...

Oh wow, the PC gaming finally gets a nice console game ported to it? That's a change. For a second it seemed like all the great PC games were being ported over to console. I'm not talking about multi release form games either.

If only Namco would follow Capcom's example and port their fighting games to the PC (good ports, of course, with full online support). The PC is just begging for some good fighters (and some good vehicular combat, too).
By the way, it's ubisoft that means that each one is going to have starforce most likely.

But what's this about getting punished for headshots in RE4?Not sure because I haven't really read any RE4 FAQs but perhaps you get better items from the dead bodies when you kill them by shooting them in the limbs or torso. If you shoot some in the head, a little later in the game, something bigger will sprout from them but I think that's unavoidable. In those cases you just pop them all in the head to expose the parasite, when you have a big group of them wandering around toss a flash grenade and they'll die instantly.
Fun game, I'm hoping the mouse works out in it. Should make aiming a lot quicker.

While some might think these releases are pointless, this is actually a very good thing for the PC Gaming, as unfortunately our favorite platform for playing games is quickly losing popularity. This sort of thing, with a company the primarily releases console based games suddenly turning towards an interest in PC gaming, could be a very beneficial turn for revitalizing PC gaming. We need more than one company to do this, however.

I have some mild curiousity about DMC3
I rented DMC3 a couple of weeks ago after never playing the series before. It has to be one of the most idiotic things I've ever had the misfortune of playing. The dialogue is so fucking painful that only 12 yr old pre-pubescent males could find anything to like about it (which, incidentally, is their biggest audience). the combat is "ok" but with Ninja Gaiden Black in my Xbox CD tray there wasn't much point in continuing with DMC's inferior combat.
oh, and the graphics really suck (even for a PS2 game)
I just bought the DMC3:SE last Sunday after reading it had some decent reviews and it was only 20 bucks. I just came off of playing God of War... thus far I am not too impressed with DMC. I had to put it on easy because it was so freaking hard my thumb was pretty tired as well.
I don't think the graphics are that bad... the anime style is nice. It looks like a Capcom game...

RE4 = One of the coolest games ever. It had an insane graphics engine and killing zombies has never been funner !
