NWN2 *could* render it obsolete. But I think that's a big *could* because I think there are many who:
1) enjoy D&D and multiplayer experiences but don't mind a fee
2) aren't as concerned with a player-run persistent world ala NWN2
3) like that DDO does add small bits of twitch to combat
4) don't want to shop around for different modules in order to play with friends
