Anyone have any hints on this part? I am thinking some knowdown spells to stop their meteor showers.
Been quite a while since I played any GW, but if memory serves, the fire imps should be your primary target whenever they show up, as they are very bad news.
Maelstrom works wonders against them (at least it did back in the days when then AI liked to stand around in AOE -- not sure how things play out now), but really, any other cold-damage type attacks are invaluable in RoF, as just about everything in there is vulnerable to cold.
With that in mind, your Ranger should ALWAYS be casting Winter around the place so that any other elemental damage your party is dishing is converted to cold. I won't say it's mandatory, but it
is mandatory, and will really make all the difference in that mission.
Once you know you have Winter in the toolbox, just think of crafty ways to lay down elemental DMG and you're laughing.
Next, decide who is calling targets and be very disciplined in following those calls so that you're always focusing your attacks and bringing down mobs as quickly as possible. The bots are just fodder in that mission and will get taken out plenty. Don't let that worry you, just try not to rack up too much DP yourselves..
Also, when you get to the section with the pools of lava, Charge! is a great skill to have -- if neither of you can bring it, wait at the edge of the pools until one of the bots throws it up and then don't waste any time in charging!! There's always a patch of dry ground you can make it to before Charge dies, so be sure you run as far onto it as possible so that you get the bots out of those pools as much as you can (maybe they've fixed that part of the AI by now, but that was always the most frustrating aspect of RoF for me by far). If there is a group of mobs between you and dry ground, get to ground before you begin your attack.
When you get to the final massive battle (you'll know it when you see it), spend a second or two outside of aggro getting past the feelings of OMFGWTF???! Take a deep breath and develop a battle plan.
Then play that section
slow, picking off mobs one by one whenever possible from the periphery. Pull like hell so that you're not drawing anything into the fight that you don't need to and you'll be fine. Voice comms work wonders in RoF, since things can get really out of hand really fast if everyone isn't on the same page.
EXTREMELY satisfying mission when everything goes according to plan, but it can be a tough nut to crack when you don't know what to expect, that's for sure..

I'm not even angry. I'm being so sincere right now, even though you broke my heart and killed me.
