Out of the Blue

A fine time was had by all at yesterday's soiree. Well, for the most part, as little Gunnar had a bodily function-intensive day, vomiting on the drive in, and leaving a couple of presents that belonged under some other tree than a Christmas tree. And of course, even with a bit of a coating of puke and crapping a couple of times, no one seemed to hold it against him... If that puppy's life was a sitcom, it would be called Everybody Loves Gunnar.

In that sketch, after hitting the girl, they decide to chop her up and stick her down the drain. The sketch ends just after that decision, they don't actually show it.

I don't usually mind sitting through the credits, unless the film was very bad (and not even in a good way); even then, I just might sit through out of curiosity.

if it weren't for the fact that I was with a couple friends (who did stay through until the end of the credits)
Does anyone else stay until the end of the credits? I never saw the point... at a premiere where the guys are sitting in the audience then fair enough, or if they're funny credits a la Hot Shots or contain bloopers / extra footage... but otherwise it's just a bunch of names I don't know.

Loved it, except for the fact that there were two groups sitting on either side of the theatre, who had come in later as one larger group. What was wrong with them? Oh, nothing, except for the fact that they were loudly whispering, answering cell phones, and flashing laser pointers throughout. I would have decided to walk out MUCH earlier, if it weren't for the fact that I was with a couple friends (who did stay through until the end of the credits). Needless to say, I complained, and got three readmit tickets for any movie, good for a long time for that theatre...

Oh, right, the review...

Well, I loved it from a technical standpoint; beautiful visuals on closeups of Kong and Ann, and the scenery was quite neat.

SST: The fight scene between Kong and the dinosaurs farking rocked! I could almost feel my own jaw breaking as Kong dealt punishment to the dinos to protect his favorite girl. I also thought as touching the "resting" scene ("beautiful") and the "ice-skating", though I could see a huge explosion or something similar coming from a mile away. I did, however, walk out a few minutes before credits, as Kong was slipping off the Empire State, having been shot multiple times.

Worth the $10? Definitely, but could VERY WELL do without the disruptors.

EDIT: Fixed SST.

And I just read that ebay auction...that's a pretty creative way to sell a 360. You're going to sell it anyway, why not have a little fun and make it really stand out from the rest of the auctions?

Since when has *anyone* got *anything* on-time let alone the next day from UPS?

I've gotten many shippments on time from UPS, to and fro Japan, the US and central Asia. The only real time I've ever gotten anything late was two days and it was hardly anyone's fault, save winter's. The december of 2000 brought one of the worst blizzards seen in Indiana in years.

The Colts are coming next week... and they're going to be PISSED!

And they'll waste and clean up like they always do. So rest assured. lol...I'm hardly a football fan, but living in Indiana, the Colt's fandom is contagious

That week's Chappelle's Show featured a sketch that parodied anti-drug commercials, and shows a little girl on a bike being hit by a car of stoned teenagers. In this rendition however, Dave and his crew hit the kid, freak out, and then decide to chop her body up and stuff her remains down a drain. This is perhaps the raunchiest skit ever to appear on the show, and it is Dave's way of thumbing his nose at his harassers, saying, no, he won't back down.

It's been a while since I saw that skit, and I don't have the DVD's of season two, but is that what really happened? I remember the skit differently somehow, like the kid got up and kicked their ass or something. Can someone confirm this? If this part is wrong maybe this is supposed to be the clue that this site is parody or satire?

but it went to BS at the mention of the Omni hotel in Buckhead

While you're correct that there's no Omni hotel in Buckhead, the "article" doesn't say it's in Buckhead, it just says Atlanta.

And even if it had, it's not like Buckhead is that far from downtown -- it's still part of the city of Atlanta proper.

I think the key thing to take away from all of this is to realize just how loony Internet conspiracy theories really are. I mean, this one is really out there, but I've seen worse...

UPS will deliver on Sunday, but it cost a freakin fortune

Oh yeah, forgot about that... FedEx has similar, and there are a bazillion courier services that will do it as well (previous job was in the industry, kinda).

A good indication of how much it must cost is that you have to call to find out how much it costs. Ow.

Happy Birthday, dude!

Mine is coming up tomorrow. My points: I´ll probably settle for a split among your mention, music-writing, and another slot I can't think of just yet. Suggestions, anyone?

The Chappelle thing was good, but it went to BS at the mention of the Omni hotel in Buckhead...it not in Buckhead but downtown at the CNN Center. There is no Omni hotel in Buckhead.
