It's an option in the menu, you can still use it in the version I had.

Even better since they bit the bullet and redesigned the interface so you don't need the irritating mouse gestures.

Interesting, I didnt realize they had removed the Mouse Gestures. I had tried the original demo last week and didnt really like that aspect...although it worked very well in Arx Fatalis. I might try the new demo if I ever have time.

It's a nice piece of work. Even better since they bit the bullet and redesigned the interface so you don't need the irritating mouse gestures. They were nothing more than a poorly functioning gimmick anyway.

I never thought much of uplink, but this really hit the spot for me. Was a bit short though.

I liked it at first, played non-stop. Then it got a lot harder, and I got bored. Multiplayer might be cool though.

The simple graphics add to the gameplay rather than detracting from it. The idea of helping a bunch of little self-aware people-like things to defeat an evil virus is heartwarming and somehow more meaningful than defeating the 'NOD' or the ancient Aztecs or a pseudo-historical civilization in Civ 4. And the doctor guy needs your help.

I think Darwinia is one of the best games to come out in quite some time. It actually had heart, whereas so many games out nowadays are bereft of all personality (having been written by 80000 different people and tested by 8000000000 more).

I like this game just because it puts a new spin on the RTS genre and does some things with it we haven't really seen anywhere before (at least not to my knowledge.) And even though the graphics are incredibly simplistic, something about them I just find really cool. I would definitely love playing multiplayer in this. I hope it gets added soon.

Uplink....wasn't that where you played a hacker who took on jobs performing cracks and attacks...siphoning money from banks and destroying LAN's? If it's the same game, I remember you kept gathering pieces of evidence about a plot to ultimate take down the internet, or whatever it was called in the game's setting. Am I right?

Back to the time where you had to make mouse gestures to build units which was a pain in the ass.

It's funny because if you go to the official forums, the people there are saying that the gesture system is what "makes" the game. Personally, I like being able to just hit tab and make the right units. I may like games to be challenging, but I'm not a big fan of the challenge being in the freakin' game interface.

Not a fan of the style, but I guess that's just me.

I played this game back when it wasn't even on steam. Back to the time where you had to make mouse gestures to build units which was a pain in the ass. Back when a bunch of bugs made certain parts of the game impossible. Back when your squad couldn't go through water. You youngsters have it good.

Oh yeah??!

Well back in my day we didn't even have no Darwinions!

We just had a game we called "Stare at the Sun".

And there'd be a whole field of us standin' out at midday Staring at the Sun until our eyeballs burst into flames.

And we liked it!

Its not Uplink, but its a crazy RTS/Sim hybrid that works really damn well.

I'll buy it on Steam when they get multiplayer integrated.

I don't get it.. Uplink was fun, but this is no Uplink. I played the demo and it felt like a weak RTS. Am I missing something? I thought this was supposed to be a unique genre.

Awesome game, definitely gets the coveted sponge Seal of Approval.

From the same guys who made Uplink, no less.
