There have been a lot of rumors in the Internet concerning DVD/CD writers malfunction after installation and star-up of StarForce protected applications. Some have even mentioned that should such “malfunctioning” drive be placed in any other PC without StarForce protection installed it will fail to work as well.

Bah. I've only ever had 1 problem with Starforce that i can actually trace it to, and 1 problem, i can't really fault Starforce with, but i'd like to anyway.
First major problem was with the first Trackmania. Compu worked fine at a AMD 2800+ chip, then 2 or 3 days after Trackmania waas installed, BOOM! the chip refuses to work at the bought 2800+ and only works stable at a 1.2ghz. That i know was due to starforce. How it managed to do that i dont know, and if it didnt, then well it's one hell of a co-inkidink.
Second one was where a CD blew up/Shattered/disintegrated in my tray when it was being read. Unfunnily enough it was my Windows XP cd. The explosion was so much it actually blew the front cover of the drive off. It was exciting
I can't prove either of them to the people now because i have since switch cpu/motherboards and a couple other things, and i dont want to risk screwing up my PC again.
