“The demand for Xbox 360 has been incredible and we are well aware that many gamers are disappointed to have not got their Xbox 360 on day one”

This statement really ought to read, the SUPPLY has been incredible (in a bad way) as only a small percentage of the people willing to go in and buy the system on day one got one.

I can remember when the playstation launched, my local babbages got almost 300 stations to sell. This time around... the local ebgames got 14 xbox 360's. Toys R Us got 4!? So calling demand incredible (in a good way) is idiocy. Your supply is barely enough to satisfy 10% of the people who want it.

And I keep hearing that you're working round the clock making these things, but apparently you are not working round the clock to ship them because since launch day, OVER 2 WEEKS AGO, no store in my area has received ANY additional machines to sell. SO CONGRATS ON WORKING SO HARD.

My Wireless controller is plugged into my Xbox 360.

It simply is a revolution in console gaming. Affordable current generation gaming?! It's amazing, haha.

Should the posted information hold true, it could very well be an interesting approach by Nintendo. So what if the graphics are on par (or slightly under) that of the Game Cube. It's not like they're bad. Same thing for the XBox or PS2. They still have plenty of life in them. If you can download any game that came out for any Nintendo console and play it on the Revolution and the system only costs $99 to $150.00, people will jump on it. Especially when gamers consider spending $300 to $400 for an XBox 360 (throw in more $$$ if you don't have a hi-def tv...if one is needed bad enough) and the PS3 rumored to be $400 to $500.

I would imagine though, that the specs of the Revolution will be better than that of the Game Cube. But I don't think it will be crazy. It would help keep cost down and the system affordable. If the Revolution is compatible with the Game Boy Advance/Mirco...the amount of games that could be played on the Rev would be insane.

Nintendo is definitely playing their cards right this generation. Cheaper, more innovative gaming. They know they can't win a pissing war against MS or Sony, so take an alternative route.

People will buy a Revolution just for Mario 128, Zelda, and Metroid...especially if that wand controller works as well as it should.

Isn't this just going to be a repeat of the GameCube plan? GC has been $100 for a while now while the PS2/XBox have been $150+. Other than the new controller, it doesn't seem that different to me. I thought Nintendo was talking about getting out of the hardware business and going strictly software if they couldn't do better this time.

I agree with this, but it's disappointing that nintendo seems to be settling for second or third place, right out of the gate...

And they have got to get some decent 3rd party support. I'm not sure how many more copies Mario, Mario Kart, and Zelda I'm expected to buy...

For me, the big appeal is the back catalogue...

That's an appeal for me as well but is overshadowed by REAL, OFFICIAL, ONLINE PLAY.

I wouldn't call it settling for 2nd or 3rd place right out of the gate. I call them smart. Price the sytem cheap for the non crazy graphic whores that just want nice graphics and have to pay over 400 for them, and cater to the people that just want an affordable system with nice graphics, lots of games, and is good for any age. I see Nintendo almost similar to Blizzard at times. They don't use or need the latest hardware(technology) in their stuff, and yet can still sell a crazy amount by catering to the smart people who aren't dumb enough to pay for graphics.

Hell, if it is an extension of the Cube, with roughly 2-3X the horsepower that isn't all that bad. Sure its notbreaking down the door in the graphics department, but as one who has played resident evil 4 on the GC, I can tell you that system can pump out some amazing/good looking visuals. Imagine RE4 w/ 2-3X increase in image quality...now thats not a bad system.

Hell IMO the ps2 has had crap graphics and look how well thats sold.

This will definately be interesting...
