Sadly, Ray, I have to agree on almost all of you points there.. I didnt even understand that that "thing" was the nailgun .. where the hell are the weapon animations??? all of the guns look THE SAME! I mean, og there are some different colors etc, but the look basically like random-generated models or something.. so DULL
I was actually prepared to get this once I got some cash.. but now after the demo.. no way.. I felt like I was playing the unreal II demo, except it was worse, much worse.
And when I saw the first "exploding" barrel, that just did it for me. 2005, millions worth of tech at your disposal,rights to the Quake name, 30 employees, 2 years of development and you cant make a fucking exploding barrel look cool? Donald Trump wants to talk.
Then I checked out multiplayer. I somehow feel like playing one of those good looking flash games or that 60kb game that uses memory to generate everything..
YOU FORGOT TO ADD ANIMATIONS TO ALL WEAPONS.
Except maybe the shotty, but sadly, that animation sucks, and the sound was replaced with a weak fart.
Allthough I am sad the Quake franchise has been disgraced with this..thing, I'll have to look at the bright side: It will be really easy to choose F.E.A.R
