Jack Thompson has been around for a long time. I think the Internet has been his downfall. He was involved in the case against 2 Live Crew (oh me so horny.) (hey, that was the name of a 2 Live Crew track. Quite the coincidence.) but despite them having 100s of thousands of fans, maybe millions, the establishment won that one. Wait 15 years or so and suddenly there's a really easy way to rally a defense against assholes like this. Penny Arcade alone has probably counted for most of this.
So how can this Internet movement have anything to do with a Judge's decision? No man is an island. Jurors aren't supposed to pollute themselves with outside influences. But when a Judge goes home and clicks on his MSN homepage what is he going to see?
