I have not worn these leather pants for the following reasons:

I am not a member of Queen.
I do not like motorcycles.
I am not Rod Stewart.
I am not French.
I do not cruise for transvestites in an expensive sports car.

They are size 34x34. I am no longer size 34x34, so even were I to suddenly decide I was a famous gay biker I would not be able to wear these pants.

These pants are in excellent condition. They were never taken on pirate expeditions. They weren’t worn onstage. They didn’t straddle a Harley, or a guy named Harley.

Never did see Blade II, but no. 3 was not very good....

I liked Blade I but thought Blade II was quite a bit better. I suggest you give it a shot sometime, it's a badass ultra-violent good time.

Never watched III because of the bad word of mouth.

I think I might get a 6800 GT. Do you guys this will be fine to last two years or more? I will upgrade my motherboard, CPU, etc. next year or so.

Well... here's the deal. If you're planning to upgrade your MB in the next year then you're going to have to upgrade your video card as well -- buying a non PCI-Express board at this point is questionable. Buying one a year or more from now is just foolish. So take that into consideration.

If I wanted to buy a card right now that would last ~2 years then the 6800GT would be a good choice IMO. The 6600GT is a much better value IMO, but I'm not sure how it'll do a couple years from now -- particularly with only 128MB (and if you want 256, get the 6800GT; it's the same price).

My Antec PSU 400 watts will not be enough for upgrade.

I disagree completely. That PSU is more than adequate to the task -- even with the 3 HDs (ack, a Deathstar!) and 2 optical drives. The 5V line on that PSU is very strong, and while the 12V line could be better, it's quite good. I have an Antec 350W PSU supplying power to my server -- 4 HDs, an optical drive, and a Athlon 1400 (not an XP, so higher power usage). I also have a 350W PSU powering my gaming rig -- Athlon64 3k, 1G memory, 2 HDs, DVD burner, and 6800GT. As long as you buy a quality PSU (and you did) it's unlikely you'll ever need >400W unless you run a huge RAID array in the box.

No suggestions on the tuner though -- check www.avforums.com and the various tech sites that are assembling HTPCs right now.

Are the *textures* set to high?

Or do you have the "Computer" setting at high?

Having said that, I just did a quick test and the game runs fine with the "Maximum" setting. It appears like things may move a tad slower, but nothing major and no thrashing. Of course, it may be the level - some run better than others.

AA, AF, shadows, and shader options all affect the game greatly.
I hope you all turned off the bob and enabled v-sync.

They are obviously two price brackets, but if I had $250 to spend, I would not suggest the 6800 over the 6600.
The 6600 is very good - for its price.
And a game like F.E.A.R. will need it even more...

Eh, you couldn't run UT2k4 at "Ultra" quality, D3 at "Highest" (or whatever the hidden level was), or BF2 at highest w/o a 512M card (well... you can... you just have massive texture thrashing and crappy fps). For UT2k4 and D3, however, the differences between the hidden texture quality levels and the highest normal level were insanely minimal.

I never owned Ut2k4, but Doom 3 plays fine on Ultra quality on my current rig.
For that matter, FEAR plays fine too with Highest Texture settings, even though I only have a 256MB card. No harddisk trashing of any kind.
I think the whole "You need 512MB graphics card memory" is just bullshit designed to get those cards to sell faster. When are you ever going to have a scene where you're actually SEEING 500+MB of textures??

PCI-E might also have something to do with it, but not sure.

Like I said, FEAR plays decent enough even with Textures set to highest, but I'll try it with medium textures tonight and see if it improves any.

I'll agree that the visual difference between High and Ultra on Doom 3 wasn't even really noticeable, although it WAS pretty noticeable in Half Life 2, for example.
Not sure what the level of difference is in FEAR.

Me too! I have an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro AIW (128 MB), and I am looking to upgrade to a NVIDIA card since my current card cannot handle new and upcoming games (e.g., CoD2, CoV, FEAR, etc.). I know GF7 is out because of PCI Express requirement. So it is probably GeForce 6. I think I might get a 6800 GT. Do you guys this will be fine to last two years or more? I will upgrade my motherboard, CPU, etc. next year or so.

Here's another thing to think about. PSU! Be sure you have enough power. My Antec PSU 400 watts will not be enough for upgrade. Funny how I had to upgrade my PSU last time when I got the ATI card a couple years ago. Sheesh!!!

I am also going to get a HDTV tuner to replace my AIW. Any suggestions on which one to get? I dislike ATI's buggy drivers and its softwares. ATI has great hardwares though.

I guess some of the local races confused me then, where candidates resigned to focus on their race for a different position, and I somehow got the idea that they HAD to do that.

I'll just go ahead and reverse myself now... I forgot. The Constitution only covers the election of the President, not of any other office at any level. So you could have state/county/city laws that prevent a candidate from holding one office while running for another, but those wouldn't apply to the election for the POTUS. Obviously it'd be bad form to do so though.

I dunno that there are any such laws, but there could be.

Man, it's amazing to look at how on the ball ATI was for the Radeon 9[5-8]00 line and see how badly they fouled things up afterwards. Seems like partnering with MS for their Xbox GPU is the kiss of doom.

Well, that depends on your point of view. I think MS put down some brutally large piles of cash for that RSX chip, so I think that ATI feels they're doing pretty damn well.

But yeah, since the 9800 Pro, ATI has definitely been losing ground, been overtaken, and is now staring at Nvidia's ass from quite a ways away. Their top of the line cards sound great, but ofcourse you can't buy one to save your life.

I thought that if you put yourself into nomination for a position, Senate, Congress, Governor etc, you couldn't keep whatever previous position you had, and couldn't fall back on it if you lost? Am I wrong in that, or is that true, just not for the Presidential race?

You're wrong in that. You can keep your position. There are issues to keeping it (like not being able to perform that position as well, since your time is further divided), but Kerry was hardly the first one to do so.
