Because I talked about opinion? And that varies from person to person? And I referenced how similar the games look? How the reviews comment on similarities as well?
I will go a step further and say that
Doom 3 was my primary reaction. The game looks
so similar to
Doom 3 that I just got the feeling Raven could not move out of the
Doom 3 engine, making me suspect that the gameplay could not move out of
Doom 3, or that Raven was too lazy/unoriginal to make something unique, further giving me question about the overall quality and effort. Though I respect its ability to put out competent games on a timely basis, I am not particularly enamored with what I describe as Raven's cookie-cutter game approach.
Nin thinks
No One Lives Forever is a copy of
Goldeneye. I think the two are
nothing alike, but joking aside, I can still understand that is his opinion. And I am obviously a fan of NOLF while he is not.
Things do vary from person to person, after all. I see you post about spending forty hourse in
Doom 3 and, from my own experience, I do not see any way I could have come anywhere close to that. Still, I do think it is rude to suggest you learn basic skills - I know more than a few people that play games at a much different pace or way than I do - and I think it is equally rude to suggest somebody just rushed through the game - I clocked in about 1/10 your play time and I am a content whore, looking for and doing everything I can in the game - if they did not get the same total. I thought it was rude to reference people talking out their asses for the same reasons.
Otherwise, I believe that I stated I had not played the game and, again, point out my request for the non-existing demo. But surely you agree people can have an opnion or belief without ever playing a game, no? Otherwise I have to just buy any random game, ignoring (p)reviews, before I can form any opinion? Along the same lines, why did you buy the game? I presume you had as much/as little access to information as I did so you should have been unable to form any opinion. Unless, of course, you formed a good one while I formed a negative one.
Admitting parts look like MoH, holding that as a negative thing, too,
Ray
