That is exactly why I don't understand "preorder" and all of that happenstance. .......
Shit, it seems like they put them in the middle of corn fields with no paved roads or other buildings for miles.Well, there's a few problems with that scenario :
Best Buy RARELY has anything in their store on release day, or the day after, for that matter. In fact, they rarely even HAVE anything in the store anymore. Our best buy now carries about fifty titles.
They did have about 50 Quake 4 pre-order boxes, but the game is nowhere to be found today.
As for Walmart, I've yet to see them have anything on release day. So if those are the only stores you have to rely on, pre-ordering online makes good sense.
Ebgames is getting fucking annoying in their stores, as you MUST preorder in the store to get a copy now. Which means actually going there fucking TWICE to get a damn game. Fuck that.
So in some cases there's good reason for pre-ordering. I've finally given up trying to find stuff in stores here, after the local CompUSA realised that having stuff on the shelves on release day or even a day before wasn't selling them anything. I just order everything online now. Slightly more expensive, but driving to the fucking store four times in a week to try to find a fucking copy of a game isn't all that cheap with current gas prices anymore anyways.
And I wish we had a Fry's here. From what I see of their prices, I could save hundreds of dollars just buying there.
Fuck the damn game stores.
