The biggest problem with this movie, is that there is a history with the name Doom. And when you take a critical part of that history away when it's translated (for this example) to the big screen, the biggest fans of Doom will tear it apart, and rightly so. The same could be said if you had Star Trek 2, and renamed Khan into Bob, or Star Wars, and renamed the Death Star to the Basketball of Death.
I'm sure Peter Jackson and company had a hell of a time getting everything so well done as to not piss off the people who were 'fanboi's' of the books.
And in the case of Doom, there is no Hell, just Hell breaking loose, which to me pretty much says 'fuck you, were making this movie the way we want', and for that reason I have no interest at all in seeing this movie. Not to mention wasn't it ID Software who said time and again they wouldn't sell out the Doom/Quake franchise with a movie that didn't do the game/games justice?
