I got a few instant-kills with the revolver, but there's not a lot of accuracy here. It shouldn't take three and four blasts from the shotgun at close range to take down a zombie. There should be some head-splattin' at that point. Sometimes there was, but I ended up getting cornered in the bathroom by a zombie who just would not die.

There's some weird things being done with the bullet physics, almost like they're doing realistic trajectory modeling--aim high to compensate for drop, and heads go flying.

The advantage of the shotgun: it takes limbs off easier, I find. Shoot out legs to force zombies to crawl at you and spots where you have to use the shotgun, like the beginning.

I get shades of They Hunger here--not attractive, but good, solid zombie smashing with a smattering of technical shortcomings. $20 is not too much to ask to smash a zombie hick in the face with a golf club, I say.

The only weapon that seemed weak and crap was the shotgun, which seemed to be just like Dead Mans Hands selection of buckshot distributors (coincidence?)

The cqb weapons were clever and really clobbered the zombies if you did it right, while the revolver and sniper rifle blew body parts off aplenty

For a budget title it wouldn't be too bad except that it is far too easy. I didn't get wounded once and there were still medkits all over the place.

Too bad, I wanted to shoot some zombies.

Not bad, but it's definitely a budget title. Makes me weep for Dead Rush (R.I.P.).

It's unfortunate that Possession went the art direction that they did. I really liked the "mystical" design of the original enslaver, now he's a "uber-super soldier bio-experiment gone awry". Maybe Stubbs will save the day.

I also have a dual core AMD, jam. AMD 64 X2 3800. I wonder if the first guy who mentioned the error has one too.

There is no support to speak of on the Groove Games site. I figure I'll just have to write this one off.

It's a shame, I'm a huge fan of the Romero movies (though I was disappointed by the latest) and was looking forward to a fun, if ultimately disposable, zombie shooter.

It's not really worth your time. It's a pretty sad effort, really.

- can't get instant-kill headshots on zombies, not even with the sniper rifle
Well, seeing as they're already dead, that can be an exception.

I kind of had fun with Dead Man's Hand, so that's not bad.

- zombies seem to just 'spawn' in some places

Mostly, they seem to spawn near holes in the ceiling. I thought the idea was that they dropped down from there.

- can't get instant-kill headshots on zombies, not even with the sniper rifle

I got a few instant-kills with the revolver, but there's not a lot of accuracy here. It shouldn't take three and four blasts from the shotgun at close range to take down a zombie. Not bad; it looks/plays better than the videos make it out. Graphics aren't amazing, but it's a budget title, and as someone mentioned, it does look a bit like Dead Man's Hand.

Good points:

- some decent, creepy atmosphere (loved those twitching body bags)
- not much ammo, so you have to be accurate
- pretty good music
- decent array of weapons
- you can shoot zombies

Bad points:

- you have to press 'use' to pick up items and weapons instead of just walking over them
- zombies seem to just 'spawn' in some places
- can't get instant-kill headshots on zombies, not even with the sniper rifle
- no manual saving
- gaseous, exploding zombies

I'd probably buy this.

I found a bug where I only had one shell left for the shotgun, but it played the reloading animation for six shells.

It's not a great game and isn't visually attractive, but I like some of the locales. I'll probably get it since it's going to be cheap.

Wow, that was actually pretty scary, although more in a shock/shit I've run out of ammo way, but it creeped me out none-the-less...

Don't like the artistic license with the slime-spewing zombies though... Very anti-Romero, although the way the zombies with weapons act is very Original-Dawn-Style (like the male zombie who grabs the gun, but doesn't know what too do with it and ends up carrying it for the whole movie in the exact same way he picked it up)...

The game is 20 bucks. And it's no wonder. It's a ut2k3 mod. The install screen, uninstall, title screen, and graphics and sound all say ut2k3. It's not bad for a 20 buck game. It's more than a glorified mod. It feels very solid and polished.

Since I'm a huge fan of Romero's "Dead" series and considering the lack of zombie-centric shooters on the PC, I'm definitely buying this. Sure, it's dated in some respects, but it *IS* a budget shooter, so I'm hardly expecting next gen. Only problem now is finding enough time to pry myself away from World Of Warcraft to play anything else.
