Anyone ever been able to read if Night of the Raven is any good? I heard you have to pretty much play the whole game over again to get to the new parts. Seems like this expansion was really an after thought. But since I am/was so into Gothic it might be fun to play through on a rainy day come this winter.

However, with Oblivion ready to unleash, I may totally forgo this Gothic 2 Gold. I am really on the fence about Oblivion given Bethesda's track record. I would hate to have to bet money on whether or not the game will be good.

After watching the 15-20 minute play through demo, Oblivion just looks so cool. However things that I noticed were that all monsters gave the same death sound, which I hope will not be final (I know the demo player was in god mode, killing a liche in 2 swings and 2 fireballs? Not likely) and also all the monsters died in a similar way, all falling to the left, same animation as opposed to having Havoc or other physics just take care of random death animations. Again this may be put in towards the end. The liche when it died realistically bounced off the pillar it hit, but the zombies did not. This is what I mean by Bethesda always having a generic feel and biting off more than they could chew.

Maybe they could add some Die By The Sword physics where peoples hands, forearms, heads, legs etc could get lopped off. THAT would be fun!

Please god don't let them put the Cliff birds from Morrowind back in Oblivion. Every single one attacks you and has to fly straight down to do it. And a packmule, horse and wagon idea would be nice. They have horses so it looks promising.

I would also like to see more animals, monsters that don't attack you. Ultima did this long ago, and really did it well with U7 the Black Gate. Birds, squirrels, wolves, etc would avoid you, except wolves in packs would sometimes get the courage to go after you in a group. That was neat. Tired of killing every damn creature in these games. They seem to have no value for life or self worth. I for one won't be killing the cool looking dear in Oblivion unless I am starving in the game.

We shall see....
