servers are utterly and completely full. The only way you'll get in is to refresh, refrsh, refresh and be quick on the double-click when you find a slot open. Still haven't gotten lucky...

Try the auto-retry button. It throws you in as soon as a slot opens on your server. But there seems to be a lot of lag so you might want to download the COD 2 demo while you wait for a late night DOD game. I think the servers are being pinged so often by eager gamers that they're lagging.

DoD with a fresh coat of paint. Right now there arn't enough dedicated servers up and running, so your best bet is to wait until tomorrow. DoD has aged very nicely though and is still a blast to play. HDR effects are also pretty nifty.

Yikes - you'd think with the 700 Trillion dollars Valve made on HL2 that they could upgrade their servers somewhat.

I heard Valve lost some money with HL2, correct me if I'm wrong.

Steam has really improved the past couple of years. I remember when Valve first started requiring Steam to play its games, the servers were always full whenever a new game or major update was released and you had to wait what seemed like forever to download the files.

Walking on my own listen server it gives me the feels of old school DoD for HL1 (pre 1.0). Let's hope this feel remains on a real game...

I can't download this for free because I gave the store my 70 or 80 dollars for the gold edition and not Valve through Steam. Heres a very big, GO FUCK YOURSELF VALVE!
