Out of curousity you new to games ore something, you really thing 16 x 12 is some new age kinda thing that never happened before 21" and 7800?If you can find me a 17 or 19 inch TFT, or a moderately priced CRT than can reasonably display 1600x1280 then hats off too you sir...
17 and 19 inch TFTs (which currently make up most of the TFT markets due to the prohibitive price of anything bigger) cannot display greater than 1280x1024 pixels because of limitations of the technology
And frankly, until the GeForce 6/7 series of cards, such resolutions HAVE been fucking prohibitive... Yes, you can do it in Windows, but theres no fucking chance my 9600XT & Barton 2500+ (a mid range system up until the Athlon 64 became mainstream) would give me acceptable gaming at even 1280x1024, let alone such godly pointless resolutions that you dictate...
Actually, the only thing I can decipher from your patronising tone is that a)you are a little kid who gets daddy to buy his computers for him (thus money is no object) or b)you have more money than sense...
