PLANO, TX – September 22nd, 2005 - Gearbox Software, L.L.C. and Epic Games announced today that they have entered into an a long-term agreement that will see Epic’s Unreal® Engine 3 technology be the exclusive technology Gearbox uses for next-generation console and PC games for Gearbox-owned intellectual properties. Gearbox has previously licensed the Unreal Engine for the hugely successful Brothers In Arms Road to Hill 30, and upcoming sequel, Brothers In Arms Earned in Blood, on PC, Xbox and PlayStation2. Along with other original, unannounced next generation Gearbox titles, Unreal Engine 3 will power Brothers in Arms 3 (which Sony announced at the Tokyo Game Show is coming to the Sony PlayStation 3).
The unreal engine always seems to be a very pretty one to look at, but the "interactivity" of the worlds is generally lacking.
Huh- call me crazy **the crowd yells "You're crazy!!!!**, but I found Riley's comment amusing.
I don't get the line about Gearbox PR...
It was bizrre to see such lifeless characters in the Vampires gameOf course the characters were lifeless. They're vampires.
Like Vampire, it probably wouldn't matter much. They aren't waiting for the game to shipI may be remembering completely wrong, but wasn't the Vampire release held back until after HL2 shipped? I'm sure Google could answer me, but it's been a looong day
