The bottom line is if you think Half-Life 2 is the only game which "conveys emotion through facial expression" or lipsynching then you simply haven't played many other games or you are too blindingly loyal to Valve or both.
Riley, no one is arguing that. They're simply arguing that, at the time of release, it had the best and most realistic.
The NOLF video you cited was even five years old and from the first game not the second one.Riley, you never said the second game, you said:
Monolith's games from NOLF onward have facial animation and lipsynching which are at least on par with what I have seen in Half-Life 2. so bringing up a NOLF 1 video is perfectly acceptable, and you criticizing him for it is just more evidence that you talk to hear your voice without paying any attention to the words you are saying.
If only I could say the same for everyone else. The board would be a better place if no one listened to your crackpot ideas. Yes, crackpot, because you never, ever come across as rational. We all imagine you living in the basement of your mothers house, collecting dolls, wearing tin-foil caps, discussing the worst episodes of star trek, and serving up super sized fries as a means to pay for your gaming habit.
