EF2 trailer, lip-synching/facial animation is at the end. It's a fucking joke. You have to be kidding me.
Play through the game and watch the cutscenes.
NOLF trailer. The lip synching is pathetic compared to HL2.

That clip is from NOLF 1 and is five years old. Play through NOLF 2 and watch the cutscenes. The ones with Cate and Isako have especially good animation and emotion.
Doom 3 trailer. Lip synching is alright, but mouth movements are wooden and facial animation is blank and pathetic.

The Impersonator UT2004 "who's on first" video. Like i said, good lip-synching, almost no facial emotion.

It's a brief technology demo. My point is that the tools are powerful and easy to use as Valve's claim to be.
Half-Life 2 E3 2004 trailer. Facial animation and lip-synching is absolutely amazing. Although, why not let everyone download all these videos and judge for themselves?

It would only be a fair comparison to skip the videos and play the games instead.
If people want to really see what the animation in the games looks like, load up and play the games at their highest available graphics settings. Comparing grainy videos against one another is a disengenous comparison given that different videos are compressed at different resolutions, and the content is not necessarily representative for this comparison.
This is the same person who once told us he was writing his autobiography so the world would know how great he was.
LOL! I said it once, but apparently you were too obtuse to get it, so it bears repeating. Irony is lost on you.
