IGN Gets Foxy

News Corporation to Acquire IGN Entertainment, Inc. (thanks Frans) is the press release confirming rumors that Rupert Murdock's media conglomerate is acquiring IGN Entertainment, saying the transaction will involve $650 million in cash. Here's a bit on the move:
With the addition of IGN, Intermix and Scout Media to the existing Fox-branded sites, News Corporation's U.S. web traffic will increase to nearly 70 million unique monthly users and more than 12 billion page impressions per month, putting the Company in the top echelon of most trafficked sites on the Internet today. The combined sites will also provide a powerful cross-promotional opportunity for Fox's television and film content and enable the company to more efficiently introduce new products and services using its enhanced web presence.

...its become blatently clear wherein the likes of CBS, NBC, ABC and CNN are coming from. I don't like CBS, NBC, ABC or CNN because my opinion is the same as yours in regards to Fox

That's sweet. Americans bitching about their introverted news sources. There are other viewpoints in the world to get information from. They're all biased to some degree and delight in selling you misery. News isn't journalism anymore, it's entertainment and political posturing. But if your small little view of the planet comes from only the above, you must open your eyes and mind a little bit.

There is something called the 'internet' and you're not restricted to what you see on television as a source of information anymore. Your brain is free to roam, soak up and discard knowlege or piss it out as you see fit, instead of ramming the thoughts of a few idiots on a handfull of network television stations down each others throats.

I'm trying to think of a good analogy for this right now, but I can't. My brain hurts. Something about ants in a forest, but I can't remember.

----

As for IGN, most good gaming sites got sucked up long ago. We all know that. I can't remember what IGN was or what it gobbled (recently 3DGamers went down the shitter) but it doesn't matter. IGN has been a piece of crap for years, so it's not like it's a big loss to any of us. OMG. A game site is going to lean a little to the right of American thinking. Billions of clickers are doomed!

At least we have extremeists here.

We should all be very thankfull to whatever things us beings believe in to still have Blues News. Actually we should thank Blue himself instead of some higher power. Enjoy it. We're all very fortunate to have this place to bitch and scream at each other and still feel good the next day. AND even talk about games sometimes.
