UC: A World Apart Patch Glitch

3000AD sends along word on a glitch with the initial release of the version 1.00.03 auto-update for Universal Combat: A World Apart. Here's word on the problem, and the updated update, which does not iterate the game's version number:
Yesterday we released the v1.00.03 patch to the public via the in-game patch Updater. We have since discovered that an incorrect character asset was included in the original game distribution. This would cause one of the Instant Action scenarios (IA0113) which uses that asset, to fail upon loading.

To this end, we have re-issued this patch today and corrected this problem.

For those who have not yet updated their version, running the in-game Updater will download the new version.

For those who have already updated their version, the steps described in the v1.00.03 section of the recently updated version control file show how to force the Updater to re-download and re-apply the patch.

We apologize for this error. Hope you are enjoying the game as much as we enjoyed developing it.

random thought:

I hereby note that you could care less what I think about you. But really, I don't think ANYTHING about you, one way or another. I certainly have nothing against you. Most regualrs here probably know I don't have anything against ANYONE.

I intended no deflection. You asked for my name and occupation, and I gave them. By your own rules, I now don't have to "shut the hell up".

You gave your reasons for anonymity and I respect them; I just thought it couldn't hurt to encourage a civil discourse. Your implication that I am trying to "shift the focus" from him to you is rather silly, as the FOCUS was originally neither. It was the patch and the issues surrounding it.

Anyway, I freely admit my bias, as I am sure you do. I am biased for DS, 3000AD, and the BC/UC series (which honestly is no secret at all, since my name on the 3000AD forums and everywhere else is "PREZ". You are biased against. So what? Your opinion is yours, and I wouldn't try to change it. It certainly doesn't lessen MY enjoyment of the game.

I DO have one question though, and I swear I mean nothing by it. In perusing your post history up to now, I found that 75% of your posts so far involve abrasiveness, inflammatory remarks, and rudeness. So my question: Are you really that ANGRY, or is that just your 'style'? No skin off my nose either way; just curious.

"The assumption that animals are without rights, and the illusion that our treatment of them has no moral significance, is a positively outrageous example of Western crudity and barbarity. Universal compassion is the only guarantee of morality."
