Speaking of freaky movies, has anybody else seen the trailer for The Exorcism of Emily Rose? I have to admit the TV spot freaked me out a little. Granted, a 30 sec. trailer means nothing, but it looks like it could be downright scary.

I think they just did not do the battling demons from hell things because not too long ago there was a movie about that…and it did really bad. It was called Gigili. In it our lone hero played by Ben Affleck battles a evil child of satan that come straight out of hell, Jennifer Lopez.

Call me crazy…but the people who take Christianity so serious as to let that stop them still will have no trouble finding reasons not to watch it. It is based off a video games that makes our kids killers!!! What more would they need?

Every zombie flick that has come out in the past 4 years has to do with some Virus or genetic mutation or something like that. Dawn of the Dead, those Resident Evil, House of Gore and ect. For there to be a hell…an invention of Christianity implies there is a heaven.
Having a hell is therefore not anti-Christian…but pro Christian. And on top of that “hell is bad”, again pro Christian.. No…I think they went with no hell/demons and some mutation because well…let’s be honest…setting personal feeling about doom aside the whole concept of demons from hell is very played out and kind of juvenile. Plus….freakish mutants is more believable!...errr….who knows why the F they changed it..

Well considering what the original plan was for this movie it is a major improvement. It is starting to look like it will be a good flick. Just dump the Genome crap for a hell gate and its a winner. The talking gun bit is going to be that little bit of humor that breaks into an intense moment. I can see it now, dude runs into monster, lifts gun pulls trigger and gets "you are out of ammo" The first person view should be neat as long as they do not overdo it. Movie has gone from, I will never watch it to a definate maybe, put hell into it and I'm there for sure.

EDIT I want to see the rock go into the portal room and see two hell knights emerge from the portal, thats was one of the sweetest moments in the game.

Suing someone on the grounds that things are "similar" or even "remarkably similar" is always dubious. How many great ideas, in games especially, are blatant rip-offs of previous concepts?

/side note: The Starship Troopers, how come they never sued valve? Those "aliens" are exactly alike. Did they get permission or something?

Good question. They do look remarkably similar. I was gonna suggest that maybe neither Phil Tippet or Paul Verhoven are very sue-happy people, but I guess the designs are actually owned by Columbia Tristar...

The slow turning is annoying. They need to crank up the mouse sensitivity.

Why did they disable motion bobbing? It makes it seem like the guy is in a wheelchair. Ohhhh...that explains the slow turning.
