I don't get why some of you keep blaming Rockstar for poor taste and deplorable behavior? Some of you are worse than how the government mindlessly pursues culpability.
1) Rockstar admitted it was an inhouse prank and they removed the code from being a functioning part of the game. That’s their prerogative if they play in-house stunts and pranks. Not yours.
2) A guy from the Netherlands reconfigured the code and titled it "Hot Coffee version x" and distributed to the Internet through a GTA fan site. I found it even after most other sites joined the bandwagon and stopped hosting the file.
3) The Sims. There is/was nude Mod for Sims 1 were by you could: remove the censor cloud, walk around naked with your dork at a high noon (or more politely 3 o'clock) as well it removed clothing for all you neighbors. I'm sure plenty of adults and kids found this Mod also.
By all accounts Rockstar is not liable in my opinion because they removed all the trappings to make the problem inaccessible. If not for code monkeys altering the product this wouldn't be a problem. Remember all games come with a EULA stating you don't have the right to alter the code.
I guess if some hacker(s) defaces the US gov website www.whitehouse.com displaying Bush and Condelezza Rice giving some mad head to each other we should blame the US Government for advertising sexually explicit material? My argument: the government made the medium available for someone TO broadcast the offense.
This is exactly why morally and logically you can't depend on some people to make fair unbiased decisions. Because they themselves can't even properly evaluate the source of a problem: be they educated or common street idiot.
I'm not sure who's more in touch with this issue????This comment was edited on Jul 26, 13:34.
