I have no clue what "game news sites" he's been checking, but what happened with his accusation is this: He goes to google, types "SIMS 2 SEX", sees the "Censor Remover", and proceeds to go ape shit (possibly destroying much of the furniture in his house in the process).

AKA, he didn't do any research on the matter, and made a bullshit accusation. Then EA shot it down, and he tried to save face by saying it doesn't matter if you can see the genitals or not.

EA won. This story is done, and hopefully Jack Thompson is too.

I saw this coming the second the shit with San Andreas started. It opened up a whole new can of worms.

The Sims was the first thing my non-gaming sister thought of -- "but what about the nude mods for The Sims?" she inquired. There really isn't that much of a difference.

I foresee a future where game manufacturers block modding of any type, just to avoid litigation. It's not far off.

Well, JT has now jumped the shark. He possibly could have damaged gaming by convincing people who don't have a clue about gaming but who make rules. Now, he's a joke and EA will be only too happy to tell the rule makers why.

Apparently the Sims have nothing under the blur so it's not like GTA:SA. Even after hacking, it's all politically correct at least enough for EA to get away with it. Apparently there are mods which add more but this is nothing to do with EA (assuming this is true, this was Rockstar's defense at first).

My personal favorite is the stuff about simulated pedophilia. Sims of Child or lower age simply DO NOT have romantic interactions available. Teens have romantic interactions available, but they can't get past 3rd base, and they can only interact romantically with other teens. Adults and Elders can only interact romantically with other Adults and Elders.
