Jack Thompson vs. The Sims

Sims 2 content worse than Hot Coffee on GameSpot describes how crusading attorney Jack Thompson is directing his concerted anti-gaming focus on The Sims 2, saying its salacious unlockable content "is no different than what is in San Andreas, although worse." Hey Jack... pick on someone your own size!

I'd've thought, EVEN IN THE U.S. you'd have to have a clue before making ridiculous claims like this.

I wish. Not to start some religious/ethical debate here, but all it takes is someone spouting nonsense about the Bible or "moral decay." Yeah, moral decay exists because half of the idiots in this country are idiot parents who want everyone ELSE to raise their kids.

datastorm: you had a great list of comparisons going on him. Jack Thompson:video game industry::Joseph McCarthy:Hollywood. It speaks volumes about his complete immaturity, idiocy, and ignorance that he said those things to someone who's a republican AND a soldier. I hope that his decision to take on EA ends with his ass in prison. People like him give America a bad name.

On a side-note here, did anyone else see the CNN segment talking about the R* ratings debacle? I loved how ALL of the footage was from Tommy from Vice City killing hookers and cops with various weapons, and then beating them after they were dead to make sure blood spurted out. So much for an objective media.
