The Cost of Hot Coffee

Hot Coffee burns Take 2 on MCV reflects on the financial impact on Take 2 of the lewd GTA: San Andreas content unlocked via the Hot Coffee mod for the game. Arguing against the saying that there's no such thing as bad publicity, the story states the game's rating change may cause the publisher's revenues to slip to barely over the $1.25 Billion (yeah, with a "B") mark for the year:
The Hot Coffee debacle could cost Take 2 Interactive around $40m in revenues and up to $28m in net income.

The company has been forced to lower its Q3 and full year forecasts after admitting responsibility for the ‘hidden’ sex mini-game in GTA: San Andreas and the subsequent change of the ESRB rating to Adults Only.

As a result, Take 2 is lowering its Q3 fiscal guidance for revenues from a $205-215m to $160-170m. In addition, the publisher’s full year revenues are now expected to be $1.26-1.31 billion, down from $1.30-1.35 billion.

'theAntiELVIS' I couldn't agree with you more. You hit the nail on the head.

I for one commented on how I've *never* been interested in GTA's takes on americana lifestyle...

...BUT, if not for the recent publicity and the hidden shenanigans of Rockstar Games, it prompted me TO invest in combat of the duality of American right wing thinking. What a hypocracy we live in.

I SAY: GIVE US MORE CHOICE.. hide the content so we can decode them at our own expense.

1) Kill a man get a silver star and accolades.
2) Pass a little R&R with some Bedroom behavior and you're a witch fit to be tied and imprisoned.
3) Socker mom's, testicular lacking Dads, and Yahoos from the midwest seem fit to dictate what we on the Western and Eastern hemisphere of the US should carry out our lives morally as i.e: as if their dumb-fuck-ultra christian, ignorance to goverment conduct, and stepfordish mannerism is idea american behavior? HA maybe to a FOB visiting this country for the first time.
4) if parents are so guilded to the trust of watching their kids, WTF are they letting their kids play games that are labeled for mature audiences anyway?

editorial: comment 3 isn't meant as a categorization of all the Midwest but good f-ing percentage and I base this on fact. My bro lives in the Utah and the way people think, his wife, is just outright laughable. For that matter San Lius Obispo, CA is about the same also, a sheepish secular mindset that has a person prejudged before they even have a moment to express an idea.
