Kenneth Scott's .plan File has word that id Software is looking to add to
their development team: "id Software is seeking a talented 3D environmental
artist to assist in creating atmospheric and highly detailed environments. The
applicant would be responsible for generating world textures, creating
normal-mapped world objects, building set pieces, building terrain, and
generally making a nuisance of him/herself in the name of game art excellence."
I wish I was good enough to apply, I'm a pretty decent environmental artist, but work just hasn't given me time to practice Modo and Zbrush enough to get the high poly stuff down tight.
Working at iD would be like my childhood dream come true.
