Trackmania Sunrise is simply fantastic. A brilliant brilliant game. It offers up that (now) rarely-seen style of gaming that is pure unadulterated joyous FUN. If that sounds good to you, you want to buy this game.

Also to unlock the later "missions" you still need to get golds in every race/serie cup. And i hate those cups. Especially when trying to do the gold version of em.
No, if you lower the difficulty (which of course you can do at any time) you will NEVER EVER need to get a gold serie cup!!!! (unless they've restricted one or two of the Puzzle or Crazy tracks, but I don't believe this is the case). I have completed all Races and all Platform tracks and was never (once I lowered the difficulty) asked to attain a gold cup.

You will need the occasional gold medal, and (towards the end) an occasional silver cup, but that's it, and as you can decide for yourself which tracks or track series to try to achieve this in, it's not a big drama.

You can see most of the game only needing bronze medals (which is a requirement that should only cause any kind of serious challenge in the very final set of tracks for a game type).

Oh, and missing a jump in a race does not (in general, at least) force you to start over from the beginning unless you're going for a silver or gold time -- simply reset to the last checkpoint and you'll be fine. And if you were close enough to the checkpoint, you'll often still be on for a silver medal.

Put the difficulty level down, then you only need bronzes

I noticed this when playing, but if you put the difficulty down to amateur so you only need bronzes, your car actually goes slower than if you put it on harder difficulties. Sounds strange i know, but it's true.

Also to unlock the later "missions" you still need to get golds in every race/serie cup. And i hate those cups. Especially when trying to do the gold version of em.

It's great to see Nadeo giving the community free content for this game. It's the only budget-priced game I've seen recently this isn't total sheit.

Have the MTA guys got this going yet? cant wait to do a little headbusting online.

If you think about it, Rockstar couldve given this game some online capability (as opposed to having somebody hack it in such as MTA) with some rudimentary ability to make teams and place assetts and we all couldve had a homegrown version of Battlefield in the 'hood. The possibilities are endless.

EDIT: yes, they HAVE been busy little bees

had a grand time sniping pedestrians below

I got tired of that before vice city came out. I played out the story line right away, didnt do any side stuff. Now I am doing the side stuff and exploring, which I find as much fun as the story part of the game. I am doing the import/export thing now, but with a twist. I am using a tow truck (steal cars by towing them to the docks) for local cars and a car carrier for stuff I get from other citys, makes it more challenging, tring to drive from one city to another with a load of cars on a carrier is a tough challenge.

Strat guide for SA, really? You actually needed this or just like to burn money?

I usually don't buy strat guides but I was perusing the SA one and it is very much worth it. The game has a mind bending amount of stuff, hidden and otherwise. You'll end up tiring of the game long before you get to see all of it if you just play the game straight with no cheats etc. For instance I found out where the police chopper was so I took it up on a skyscraper, got some weapon unlock codes and had a grand time sniping pedestrians below.

Speaking of GTA:SA, has anyone tried the Hot Coffee hack yet?

Ya I had it installed but had to remove it because I needed to advance with one of the women and couldnt do it (crappy in bed ) Guess I need a virtual viagra mod to go with it.

I want to see everything in the game, and in that game, there's a TON of stuff to see/do...

I can see that, though IMO thats the fun of the game is to discover these things yourself.

EDIT I like the base jumping, I like to get a couple of stars so that the cops are after me then jump.

This game was very addictive and I really was loving it until I got stuck half way through and can't progress any farther. Sooo the 2nd half of the game I bought I'll never see.. why?.. because you have to earn the new tracks by beating the previous ones in INSANE times.

Should would like a unlock all tracks code so I can see the rest of the game I PAID FOR!!!

It's so good they had to use starforce and completely negate any chance of me going near it.

tbh 99% of people couldn't give a toss

For the other 1%, if you have tech probs with it, DJ sort it out pronto.

So Sunrise is good, yes?

Fun, and VERY pretty, when you crank everything up.

The two things I didn't like (besides the CP you mentioned) were 1, the music (which I now have a fix for, thanks to the posters below), and 2 that if you miss one jump on a given track, you have to start over. If you can get past that, it's a great game...

Looking forward to trying it w/ a PS2 gamepad, once my USB adapter shows up...
