You mean "REQUIRES FORUM REG." not "may".

Anywhoo. I am excited about this release.
It just takes so damn long to play a game cause of the lame ass CPU players. With their "?" just standing around not making a move. Need to make a speed up option.

/edit: Oh, and another thing I noticed that is very annoying. Hopefully the full game will have more camera options. When the CPU players are doing their moves, you are LOCKED on a certain camera view. Very annoying.

According to Team17, the current demo is a from a build over a month old. Later this week they are *cough* supposed to release the demo of the current build, which should have configurable controls. They posted a pic of the options screen that showed separate inverts for x and y axis in 3rd person, and y axis in 1st person. Demo later this week *cough* should also address some of the bug issues.

Well I have played enough through the years (have all versions) that it is on a 2d platform although it is 3d, therefore buildings don't fall, land doesn't crumble, etc. But if you give me 4 legs to a tower and I use the holy hand grenade to blow them all up, IT SHOULD TUMBLE! Killing whoever is in it, and those around. heheheh that would be cool. That was my whole plan.

I'm a worms newbie and I wish they included the tutorials in the demo instead of graying out the tutorial option. I want to learn damnit. GG codemasters.

Isn't this like the third new Worms game in like 15 months or something? Worms 3D, Worms Under Siege (or something like this) and now Worms 4. Are these really still selling well enough to justify developing them at this pace?

I was a HUGE fan of the 2d, but not the Worms 3. This one is a lot of fun. Easier to control than the previous 3D game.

Game should have gone 3D graphics but still 2D gaming.

I played the 2D games, up to WWP, like mad in college over the LAN. Lots of screaming at kids in other rooms ensued.

maybe im missing somthing but the game sucks.

Performance for a sub par engine is awful (Im running it on an FX-53), the controls just have me running into walls the whole time (seems like some sort of autoun type feature only, but im pretty sure its not, just some dumb control system).

They should never have moved to 3d. By moving it to 3d all theve done is create a turn based fps, with awful controls and sub par graphics.

Im sure some fans will love it, but for the rest of u avoid this like the plague.

HOTSEAT MULTIPLAYER IS IN THE DEMO!

Just in case you guys missed it....seeing as how it was right on the main menu and all.

Quick review, like Worms 3, but better. Damn them for not giving me the ability to configure my controls in the demo though.

No multiplayer in the demo, wheres the unistall icon...
What the hell is the point of a single-player-only game of Worms?! (And this from someone who just doesn't DO multiplayer in general).

Not even hot-seat??

Well, I won't bother with any other Worms game in 2D. The concept is _done_. We've already have had four games (not including the extensions !) like that. The gameplay has been perfected since at least Worms:Armageddon, if not Worms2.

It's time to move on forward. Team17 got to try out new concepts. Going 3D is one way to do this, because this radically changes the gameplay.

If you want to play 2D Worms, just get Worms World Party in the bargain bin.

I tried the demo and the graphics stutter a little and the load times are a little long, but it was pretty fun. It could be REALLY fun with internet multiplayer.

The only thing I disliked was the controls on w3

Yeah, I know what you mean. I just posted on the team17 forums, and they devs confirmed that all versions (consoles included) will include fully configurable controls, and separately invertable x/y axis in both 1st and 3rd person views.

The wonky controls are the only thing that kept me from enjoying Worms3d (and I loved the 2d games as well). Looks like W4 might be all that W3d should have been.

It's a shame that "going 3D" is always the last and presumably biggest step in any franchise. Ahh well, I'll be happy with the other games in the series.

Agreed.

For about 1 year in college I played Worms 2D more than any other game including StarCraft and Counter-Strike (this was when CS just came out and was "all the rage.").

Seriously, it was great playing against my room-mate or just trying to get past the Eifel Tower map

How I miss the good ol' games of yester-year. Now it's all about the polygons. So sad...
